They've got 17 wins when allowing the 1st goal.

Hell to the no. Trade Clowe if anybody. Seto will develop into a stud winger.

i was at the game. the first 2 periods were pretty blah, but the energy when the sharks starting scoring was awesome. even if we didn't win, that made going to the game worth it!

oh and after the game a couple guys a section or two away from me got into a fight. i didn't see what happened but one one of them looked like a gangbanger and ended up with a bloody face while the other guy looked like nothing happened to him.

Maybe what this team needs is no movement...Maybe this team will be forced to band together and not rely on some new hot shot aquisition to spice things up

I cannot understand this team anymore. Why is it that nobody on this team will step it up, or start playing rough (when down 4-0). Or show alittle emotion once in a while? The sharks have the best line in hockey, they have grinders. I know its the first game back, but they were playing like this before the olympics...
IMO, theres no emotion on this team. WHY?

Also, they have not won a game since they traded Shelley either. Im just saying...

I was getting so bored at the game, that I told the GF I was about ready to leave with 15 minutes left in the game. Then I said, we'll see who scores the next goal. It turned out exciting but damn did I get sick of seeing 3 get stacked in the Neutral zone.

Games like last night where teams trap and slow things down are why there won't be the carry over in fans from the olympic hockey.

When the Sharks starting to really play in the 3rd, they looked really really good. Joe looked really strong and, let's hope this is the team we see going forward.

But, let me ask this again; with the abundance of 5th 6th D men, why did we trade for Wallin?? I'll continue to state, we got the wrong D in the trade with Carolina. We just took a salary they were trying to get rid of. We really really got the wrong D via Carolina.

I know your not speaking to me, but I wanted to note that I absolutely recognize my negativity as well, but I honestly feel it is justified. I do want this team to win, but I've been pointing out the exact same issues since the beginning of the season (yes even in games we win) and I am legitimately worried.

Point is I am a "i'll believe it when I see it" kind of person. Results beget expectations. Yes we win a lot of regular season games, but what I am specifically looking at are the little things that will become big issues in the playoffs.

- We may be able to get away with a ridiculous number of turn overs in the regular season, in the playoffs it will end us.
- We may be able to squeak by with a horribly immobile D, but not in the playoffs.
- Relying on slowing the game down (JT) in order to make plays works against lesser teams, but against the best teams it's a train wreck (as proven by our record even the regular season)
- Inability to make a solid and consistent zone entry will mean low scoring games and power play death (as we've seen in previous years). The Sharks are not designed for low scoring affairs.

Frankly, we have the wrong players for the kind of system we are trying to play. I for one am not knee jerking from a loss. There is no point in having unrealistic expectations. This team has all the tools to win, but so far they haven't shown me any signs that they have the will to win. They either find another gear, or there will be no parade in San Jose this year.

Observations

TM has no control over his star players and I mean Zero. Nabby should have been pulled...again and was allowed to sit in net. Thronton needs his minutes cut down big time when he just decides to float like a retard.

I dont want Thornton resigned.

The Sharks still need a better mobile Dman.

That was the most boring game ive seen this season next to the Coyotes....Jesus.

Actually, Joe looked pretty good last night. yes, a couple turnovers but, with his passing/set up game, as in others stars in the league, you do expect some turnovers per the chances they take. Boyle made some pretty bad turnovers but they don't get talked about!!!

I think he and Heater looked a whole lot better when Patty was off the line. Showed MUCH more speed with Seto and effectiveness.

On this I do agree with you. Even our "energy" 3rd and 4th lines are not showing much any longer. This team as a whole has much to change as, like last year, they seem to be fading and going backwards. But, I do have to admit, Joe and Heater did look good and a whole lot more effective when Patty was off the line. Seto seemed to add a little more grit and speed than what Patty has been showing at all for the last little while.

I don't know.. I liked that alien zombie looking thing that was on Kippers mask too. The new look has a very light version of teal, and it brings back the bad memories of the 90s :p
