sigh

If you're giving 2,5 to Pouliot, I hope it's for more than 1 or 2 seasons, because so far, he hasn't done much to get a 1,7 mil upgrade.

Pouliot won't get that much.

For the rest of what you said, I'll keep to myself since I don't wanna offend you.

So I hear there's game tonight..some team called the Canadiens against the Capitals? Oh, and it's a "playoff" game, whatever that means...

Sheesh...we'll have all summer to go discuss this.

I'm not a religeous man per say, but you make me want to thank God everyday that you're not the GM of the Canadiens. Everyone of your trade proposals deeply undervalues our assets and tremendously over values the other teams.

My explanation goes this way. Bernier will play behind Quick in LA for the for see able future but is ready for a starting job. Price I think will never feel comfortable in Montreal again. You trade Halak for depth the same way LA and Chicago have rebuilt through the draft. You need assets and while Montreal is starting to build this future depth these moves help them speed up the process. You sign Turco to mentor Bernier and you have someone that has been through the wars. Or you can say I'm nuts.

To be able to build through the draft - which is the way to build the core of your team into a true contender - Habs eitther have to finish at (or near) the bottom of the league - and draft well --- OR - Habs have to draft well despite finishing in the middle of the league or higher (see Detroit and New Jersey).

Habs do not have the quality of scouts required to do this - and hockey management in the Habs organization has apparently not seen a need to upgrade the scouting staff!

With the exception of Halak and (hopefully) P.K. Suban the Gainey/Gauthier regime has not drafted a so called impact player in any round of the draft while letting a number slip through their grasp.

Even Reggie Houle proved that if you draft enough players - sooner or later you are bound to draft a gem out of nothing more than Blind Luck (see Andre Markov).

I like how people try to disguise their trade proposals by giving them a different title. Hardly an offseason preview, standard trade proposal imo.

Lol so trade Price for a goalie so we can have another debate?

Anyways I don't think any of you realize it will take an overpayment to get Price. Just because Halak is playing now doesn't mean Price lost all his value.

Halak will be the one trade unless he leads us to the cup and wins a conn smyth.

Halak + MTL's 1st for Pietrangelo + STL's 2nd?

Markov-Pietrangelo/Subban
Spacek-Subban/Pietrangelo
Gill-O'Byrne/Gorges

Come on....Staal is 21 years old. He's already as good a Plekanec and his making only 4M$ year. Why the heck would pens trade Staal for ''the right '' to Plekanec haha.

Halak + 2nd vs Berglund ?
Halak vs EDM 1st 2011 ( good guest to take IMO....it will probably be a top 5 overall pick )
Halak vs TBL 1st 2011

lol wow! why dont you come back in a month!

and also the trades you proposed are rediculous, and there is no way pouliot deserves more than 2million yet! he still has things to prove, if he gets more than 1.5mill i would not be very happy.

Gauthier needs to draft Tyler Seguin

Gauthier needs to trade with Boston and try to get Tyler Seguin with the 2nd overall pick, that is the only way this team is going anywhere in the next 3 to 5 seasons while Cammalleri, Gionta, Gomez and others are still around.

Seguin is exactly what we have needed for years! He is an impact scoring/play making centre that shoots right and is over six feet tall. Even if it means trading the Kostitsyn brother and Subban or one of our goalies, make it happen Gauthier.

Tyler Seguin

We have nothing they want and they would never do it. Only Brian Burke trades lottery picks to a division rival, but appearntly he's taken the leafs in a better direction then the habs according to some of our "great" and "intelligent" fans.

Dude, first of all..stop making threads.

Secondly, we have a draft thread..and you know that. You have probably made 5 or 6 threads about the draft in the past few months, and each and every single time the same thing happens...it gets merged with the draft thread.

At leasst Burke didn't tie his team to a small core of players who aren't going far in the playoffs with a soft coach for the next 5 years, I don't know if ill be able to stomach watching it

Yea Boston would want to trade away the gift they got from Toronto. Now lets reverse it. Lets say we have the number two pick and Boston were to ask us who we would want from their team to get that number two pick? Would you trade away the pick? I wouldn't

Boston has better centers than us so the only thing I could see is if we offered Cammy, Markov, our 1st and then we are back in no mans land. They might want PK as well. Boston would then dump Ryder and Wideman to Toronto for Kessel
