God that was tough to watch. After the standings they have no idea what's going on in Edmonton. "Eberle and...the Swedish guy". Give me a break.

Way to go MacT. He was bang on.

EXACTLY. The deadline isn't the last day to make trades until next year, etc.

I don't care if Gilbert is young. He isn't good!

I pretty much disagree with everything you say. Every post sounds like a beer swilling loudmouth from the deep south.

CBC saying there's a Gilbert to Sabres rumor. It's probably Stafford in return.

@CBCNHLTRADES Rumour circulating that D Gilbert on his way to Buffalo. Oilers say NO truth to it. Oilers not currently close to a deal.

That's good news about Gilbert. Although, with the Oilers currently in lockdown mode I found it odd that they were able to confirm this from the team...

Not that I don't agree with you, but I can't understand why we'd trade away both Gilbert and Grebs. Not unless we're getting a better, young ddefenseman back. I doubt we enter the rebuild with our best d-prospects being Chorney and Peckham.

There's plenty of time to trade Gilbert in the next couple of years. We should be looking to trade either Souray or Visnovsky first. Especially is all we get for him is the return we got for Grebs. Let's wait to see if Gilbert gains some trade value before selling him off for a pick.

How can anybody not think Gilbert is a soft player, average at best, and has a bad contract?

I don't care if we get a 5th for him. Party time if he's gone.

Horcoff is making $6.5M? Good work Barnaby, ugh.

What exactly do you disagree with, they are soft, scared turnover machines, aren't they?

Like it matters. We all know he's getting paid twice as much as he should be.

I don't think that's fair to say. He had 45 points last season, was +6 and wasn't a liability. The thing with Gilbert is that he's a #4 Dman that needs a legit #3 so he doesn't get exposed. Grebeshkov was probably our best overall Dman last season and was a legit #3 and Gilbert looked good. This season he took a step back and Gilbert did too. He's a good Dman but he needs someone that can cover for him so he can play his game...cause when on his game he's pretty good.

My biggest issue is that our #4 Dman is making 4M a year.

Find me a team that has a team full of non-soft players. There is no problem with having soft players, but there needs to be balance.

Halpern to LA. Looks like Moreau might not be an option for Kings anymore.

Although, Halpern is a Centreman. If Kings want more grit on the wing...

Jeff Halpern to LA = one less potential location for Moreau. Please Toronto. I would take Finger.

WTF is wrong with Tomas Kaberle? Is he a moron? Why wouldn't he be jumping all over the prospect of getting out of Toronto?

I don't think Gilbert is a turnover machine. He's not having a good season, for sure. He's -12, but on the worse team in the league, and the ice time he's getting, it could be much worse.
