Maybe Mess can come in a few years down the line when the team has a path so it won't be so difficult for him.
Maloney is a clone of Sather. Lousy drafter, great trader. Thank God for Gordie Clark.

Rangers have a 2nd minor league deal coming, but they didn't surrender core youngsters or top prospects for middling rentals. That's a plus

Slightly disappointed to see nothing done; Sather had to either buy or sell, not do neither.

I can't wait to see what we did! Parenteau for Krog? Wiikman for future considerations? The suspense is killing me...

So the goal of Trade Deadline 2010 was for Sather to improve the Pack so they can make the playoffs, leaving the Rangers to remain in medicority.

I'm honestly relieved. There has been nothing catastrophic done, though picks for some expiring contracts would have been nice. I don't see why so many people are up in arms about a lackluster deadline day.

We're not going to be making a deep run in the playoffs and the team's actually looked pretty comfortable out there together with the current crop of players. Probably best for Sather to've remained idle.

Kyle Turris is a minor league player, right?

Can't believe they didn't unload Jokinen or Prospal.

However, Rozsival is more attractive come draft day due to the final two years of his contract (obviously, depending on his play for the rest of the season).

Redden needs to be sent to Hartford next year (or CBA amnesty buyout). If those two things get done and the defense gets upgraded physically, I'm fine with it.

However, when all is said and done, I'd rather go for Hall or Seguin then a 1st round playoff exit this year.

Ridiculous statement. Maybe he is finally looking at the big picture and realizing that toiling in mediocrity year after year is not going to get it done.

I'm no Sather fan but no player was moved today that would make this team a contender anyway.

I like both guys but...

Maloney has not shown the ability to draft well, and Burke traded a top 3 pick this year and what could very well be a top 5-10 pick next year ++ for Kessel.

Maybe he feels bad for playing Yo-yo with their starters and dumping Brashear on them

Exactly, I mean I would have loved having Wolski, but besides that not much to really go crazy about!

That is exactly what he is doing. This year is a classic example of Ranger mediocrity.

Believe it or not, 26 trades were made so far today, which apparently is a record. All minor deal really, with the possible exception of the Wolski and Visnovsky deals.
