My left butt cheek just twitched, so we GOTTA be making a move soon.

I'll call it...Redden to EDM for their 1st this year.

...what?

Maybe we can have Prust, Voros, Newbury, and Shelley @ an MSG cage match to see who gets the 2 roster spots. That would make up for the team missing the playoffs.

The Kings contacted the Rangers about Dubinsky about five weeks ago. The Rangers want Jack Johnson in return, but they aren't willing to move Dubinsky because they feel that we'll lose grit.

Glen was thinking to trade Dubinsky and bring in Johnson and Torres. Torres to replace Dubinsky in terms of grit.

JMFJ and David Backes,

both just had stellar showings in the Olympics, their value is sky high and a huge over-payment would be required. Also why would either team want to move these guys right now when they are both coming into their own/entering their primes, and playing well.

A deal would have to be so slanted to LA/STL that we would feel we got ripped off.

Avery's not legit. My grandmother whose cluless about hockey can make up better rumors.

Interesting. If Sather thinks this team lacks grit and values that more than adding a lot more skill and upside I think he is nuts. Dubi for JJ is a good deal IMO.

brb starting up a game in NHL 09 and trading away every player on the Rangers to get a team that has 3 first lines.

To be quite honest, it seems like every single call Glen is getting is really one sided towards the other team.

The Rangers are going to make a trade. Just be patient. I think they'll make two trades before the deadline.

Is Messier in the room with Glen?

Jack Johnson IS very talented, but something there is missing. I don't think his brains match his talent. I don't think he will ever live up to his immense potential. Now, the same can be said about Dubinsky, but that's why I said it was a lateral move.

I like JJ and Backes, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind them on the team at all, I just don't think we have the assets to afford them.
I don't disagree, it of course comes down to what you have to give up and how you value what you give up.

I would "gamble" with Dubinsky for Johnson. 15 years from now, Johnson will have had a very good career. If he have been a top D in this league, or like a "Gary Sutter" type of D -- that remains to be seen.

But I would gamble on him.

Glen always seems to wait until 2:59:59 to pull the trigger.

Yeah, me too. Dubinksy -> Johnson is a good move for the Rangers. Not so sure it's great for LA.

The Rangers usually make trades in the last 10 or so mins before the deadline. That's what happened with Antropov and Morris last year.

Becuase the Rangers are so deep at center right now. I wouldn't be too hasty to do that deal straight up.

No. I won't say that. Though I don't post much on here, I won't duck.

I'm just letting you know what's going on in the war room right now. Take it as you want. I won't be holding an after party special to talk about what almost happened.

If I remember correctly, you were in favor of taking a gamble on Redden, too.
