Moved their best player for someone who wasn't wanted in ANA.

Amazing...

Terrible deal. Save very little cap space and Vis >>> Whitney. I have zero faith in Tambo.

Ouch and I don't really know how to feel. Pissed off, but salary is moved, pissed off as he has been one of our better d-men this year.

This can't be the deal alone, there's no way it's one for one. That's brutal.

Finally Vis will get to play for a decent squad though.

Our D gets younger I suppose. Don't have much faith in Tambo though, I don't think he's the right guy to run this ship.

So we downgrade tremendously on D for 1.6 in salary?

Had a 59pt season with Pittsburgh before. He's a good player guys but I wouldn't have traded Visnovsky for him. Especially considering that it only saves us 1.6 million. Another plus is that he is younger and would better fit with our rebuild I suppose.

This is probably the worst possible trade they could have announced.

They deal the only high-contract player they should have kept and they don't get any future back and they barely even save any money doing it? WTF?

Oilers fans scream for change and when they get it they complain about it.

Here's the cold hard facts:

We are in 30th... Nothing can technically HURT us.

Not impressed... I'd have rather done nothing.

Ryan Whitney?? Couldn't you at least have gotten a first rounder + for Vish?

Well I was pretty certain Vis was going to be traded... he's basically the top asset on the Oilers.... but is that the best the Oilers could get for him????

FAIL.

Tambo should have waited until the summer if that was the best he could get at the deadline. Sad.

There's only 1 way this is an acceptable trade...

and that's if Visnovsky actually asked for a trade.

FRICK!

So we save 1.6 million/year and get younger and bigger but Whitney is slow and a defensive liability.

What is it with Lowebellini and their hard-on for American defensemen?

Underwhelming trade.

Whitney could still blossom though. Age fits in better with the younger players as well.

Whitney is a mediocrity who will save us a minimal amount of money. Visnovsky was our best player. This organization is beyond pathetic.

Visnovsky was, imo, our best D-Man, BUT...

We're in a rebuild, unfortunately Visnovsky apparently didn't fit in with our plans.

Visnovsky was not having fun playing here and now he'll at least get a chance to play for a contender.

Whitney can be a good building piece. Nice to see that things are getting done finally.

This is a horrible horrible trade. WTF. this makes absolutely NO SENSE. Only thing I can think of is if Lubo asked for a trade himself.

That doesn't change the fact they threw away their only trading chip.

Jesus H this season can't get any worse.
