Edmonton was wise to do this. They get a lot younger and shed some salary. Talent isn't equal but if you look at the big picture they make out here. Plus they have quite a bit of cap space now.

Cheese and rice, he's a grown man making millions of dollars, but this fruit compares him to an ex-girlfriend?

Time to re-assess your sexual preferences, Bobby.

I regard SJ as our most hated rival. Anaheim's just another opponent.

ha ha, fruit. That was almost funny. I think you're new around here. We are a little more crazy than typical fans on this board. We are also unpredictably violent, especially when we're smiling. Did I mention your post was funny? Hang out a little more. Come to a Kings game sometime. Meet my friend JDM.

Lubo in a Quack's jersey is just plain WRONG! I will admit that I'm glad he's back in Socal which he loves, but Anaslime..... so wrong, on so many levels....

Other than Cammalleri or Johnson on the Ducks this is the absolute worst.

I know this has been mentioned, but good grief, he waived his NTC to go to Anaheim. I am trying to hate him. Help me out here. Maybe just seeing him in that jersey will do it.

Cammy would be funny actually. There wasn't enough history with him.

I think Frolov would have been the worst.

I am getting angrier and angrier at this trade by the moment. What the **** is wrong with the Oilers? Is this the worst trade in a decade?

Stupid coincidence: A friend and I pop in NHL 10 for the first time in a month or two today, not too long after finding out about this abomination. We load up the dynasty we were playing last, which is a year or two in, and as we are browsing through trades, we see that the computer traded Lubo to the Ducks.

It was gross in fake pixels. I don't know if I will puke or cry when I see the real thing.

They saved $1.6M. That's it. Not much. Unless you tell me that Lubo told them that the only team he was willing to be traded to was Anaheim, this was the dumbest ****ing trade I have seen in a long time.

$1.6 for a defenseman, that while younger, is signed for just as long, and worse at every facet of the game.

The only argument I can see for this is that they expect Whitney to keep improving and Visnovsky to drop off sharply in the next year or two.

Am I really the first one to mentio that he didn't waive is NTC?
Doesn't the team that gets the player with NTC have the option to keep it or not? Or they have to keep it for like one season? (Edm in this case).

Anyway, Lubo said in an interview that he heard it on TV and after that was trying not to think about it untill he got the call.
Very nice interview by the way, he's very nice to the Oilers: http://ducks.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?&id=61622

Anyway... you should maybe know that I'm a big fan of Lubo (), so to him I wish all the best.

But ALWAYS:

GO KINGS GO!!!!

That's exactly the thought. Whitney regressed a lot playing for the Ducks. He wasn't a fit there. I am not convinced Lubo is either. I've seen Whitney do some amazing things for the Penguins.

Don't know if any of you guys really followed him in Edmonton but he has some great interview moments:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYGCX...eature=related (I love the handshake after he mentioned his hat trick , or "no hard question, just like how's the weather".)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LuoVS2jdaU&NR=1#t=1m34s

http://oilers.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?&id=58318 he's also very communicative... note how the interviewer says "very cool" after Lubo says he couldn't get out of the country because of communism...

He's back with #17.

You know what's really strange? I posted a very similar, albiet much shortened comparison of Lubo and the trade on someone's facebook yesterday. Coincidental, but strange.

The odds of another team trading for him with that cap hit would get lower and lower each year. He got the oportunity to get out of Edmonton and play for a legitimate team and took it. I can't blame him, particularly since he never wanted to leave LA in the first place.

Until recently, he was a plus player on that dreadful Oilers team. The guy is a winner who has played for a loser since 2003. I'd cut him a little slack.

Thanks for these, Jacob. That's about 10 times more than we ever heard Lubo talk when he was with the Kings!
