I don't normally like trying to do line combinations. I fancy myself an armchair GM more than an armchair coach. And the lines change so much anyways.

I will say, though, that I would prefer Lubo to be paired with a fast, defensive type. Just because I think he can be freer to bring in the offense. But we don't really have that.

Barring that, though, I think I expect Visnovsky to be paired with Wisniewski (the i-y line). Visnovsky is the type, like Pronger, that can make his partner better. Niedermayer will probably be with either Eminger, based on how Eminger was one of the top minute getters last night, or Ward.

Next year, Vis could be Sbisa's mentor since Niedermayer will probably retire.

Broken jaw, he'll compete for a spot next year.

I've watched him a couple times, he looks pretty solid. Hope this turns into a score by Murray

Looks like Carlye is giving the lines I wanted a try next:

http://ducks.freedomblogging.com/201...ctice-8/31413/

Belesky Getzlaf Perry
Blake Koivu Selanne
Ryan Marchant Sexton
Bodie Chipchura TBD

Interesting it didn't mention D pairings.

Carter was the 3rd line center.

I like the idea of 3 scoring lines,as it could give Ryan and Sexton the opportunity to play against the bottom lines. Will be interesting to see,if Carter can use this chance and secure this spot.

I was wondering the same. C'mon Carlyle...we want to know!

Maybe:

Scott-Ward (call me crazy )
Vis-Wiz
Eminger-Brookbank

I'd like to see Nieds and Brookbank form the 1st pairing.

This is what I'd like to see:

Niedermayer-Brookbank
Visnovsky-Wiz
Ward-Eminger

If Carlyle wanted to try Brookbank / Niedermeyer we would have seen it by now.

My guess is Niedermeyer and Wiz will continue to play together until Vis/Ward have had a few practices.

I think Wiz/Vis sounds like a decent pairing, but i'm worried that Ward doesn't have enough foot speed to accomodate Niedermayer's roving.

Eminger and Brookbank should be a good 3rd line pairing, but I have a feeling Festerling will get dressed but still play limited minutes.

I like the idea of Carlyle at least attempting to use a 3rd scoring line with Carter in it.

Beleseky-Getzlaf-Perry
Blake-Koivu-Selanne
Ryan-Carter-Sexton
Bodie-Chipchura-Marchant

this lineup also gives us a checking line. We just would be lacking an "energy" line. However, since that line has only been playing 4 minutes a game, we could live with that.

Ryan and Sexton had quite a bit of chemistry when they played together on the second line, lets hope that continues.

One more game and if they suck/lose that will be the end of the 3rd scoring line and we could get back to using the same lines that we where actually winning with. We could put Bodie/Chipchura back to were they belong which is shutting poeple down, controlling play and scoring as many goals as the scrapped together "Scoring line" will anyways

Why not 3 scoring lines and a shutdown line?

With the line combos mentioned above, we still have a checking line/shutdown line. All that is eliminated is the 4 minutes a night "energy" line. We'd just have to be mindful when we play teams with enforcers like the Wild. However, 95% of the time I think those combinations would be most beneficial as long as they all scored somewhat consistently.

Because the "shutdown line" ends up being played 5 minutes and not really used to shut teams down. If they play 3rd line minutes and you assemble a 4th line that can score i wouldn't complain too much

3rd line - Bodie - Chipchura - Marchant 13 - 15 min a game
4th line - Sexton/Blake - Carter - Parros/Brown 5-7 min a game
