So Thornton will not be at 100% the rest of the year? Well that sucks.
Going off of normal Sharks injury speak, btw.
And I also realized I got to see only parts of like one game during spring break, and I was home almost ten days. Way to busy/had other stuff going on during the games when I was at home, and tonight I had to go pick up someone from the airport, which was much more important than the hockey game...
Well this game is in the bag because of David posting it. Luckily it's not a playoff game. Now the team has a built-in excuse to give Joe Thornton a pass for the predicted post-season floperoo.
McCreary is senior. Kowal is a poor skater, McCreary is worse. McCreary is a mildly loose caller, Kowal is mildly tight. McCreary has average game control, Kowal is poor. Very little score calling from both. Both tend to swallow the whistle in the third. A little home advantage from Kowal, none from McCreary. Kowal has a high safety rating, McCreary is below average. Both will make calls generating 5on3's. McCreary tends to even up calls for a game, Kowal does not.
Review notes:
By reviews, McCreary has the lowest overall GPA of all refs. Kowal is low. If skating grades are held out, McCreary is second lowest next to Fraser.
Manny was also hurt... no one talks about that guy.
Sounds like he's fine. DP's blog:
Quote:
McLellan did say that Manny Malhotra appeared to be in good shape despite some serious bleeding after he took a puck to the face and had to leave the game with 41 seconds left.
I've anti-snogged every win since the losing streak ended and don't want to jinx it, so ....
Avs 3-2 Goals: Hejduk, Mueller, Porter. Sharks: Thornton , Marleau
Now with the anti-snog out of the way, I hope Jumbo takes a day off and rests, now matter if he wants to play or not. Same with Nabby and Manny. We are in the playoffs. The rest is fine tuning for the playoffs and with the compressed schedule, there is no reason to have those two play today. So just for fun ... what I would do with the lines without Jumbo or Manny today:
I also hope the Sharks win, but really hope for no more injuries. There hasn't been any news of a Worcester call-up, right? Presumably that would have had to happen ASAP. So that might be a sign that one of Manny or Thornton is back, at least.
