Ray Emery out for season, (posts #158 and 159) bone graft

http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landi...918&feedID=695

Quote:
According to CSN’s John Boruk, the Flyers have placed winger Riley Cote on waivers and goaltender Ray Emery on long-term injury.

Cote has failed to record a point in 12 games this season. Emery has been out with a hip injury, and it's very likely he has played his last game this season. He is 16-11-1 with a .905 save percentage.

It's true though. Emery was placed on LTIR.

Alright, something is definitely happening within the next couple days. Homer wouldnt be doing all of this if a trade wasnt happening.

I've been right the last 2 times about the Flyers lying about injuries btw.

Kinda figured this was coming.

Sounds like a possible career ending injury.

Emery did not **** up the season. You can't blame a guy for getting hurt. He played very well when healthy, he just caught a bad break with some injuries. I, for one, hope he gets re-signed. A healthy Emery is better than any of our other options.

This has been a weird injury for Razor. I guess Elliss and Hamhius might have some steam behind it now.

I'd take Ellis as a stopgap, but there's no way we could resign Hamhuis.

From two different parts earlier this season:

http://razorrayemery.com/enter/?p=92

Quote:
Holmgren said Emery was bothered by abdominal pain last month. Emery said he “felt a little pop” when he was injured in a 3-2 loss to visiting Buffalo on Nov. 14.

"I didn’t realize what it was at first. Normally, I kind of heal pretty quick, and I thought it was just in [my] head and I could battle through it,” said Emery, who has been testy with Philadelphia reporters in recent days. “But I wasn’t able to contribute, and if you can’t contribute, then you’ve got to get it fixed.”

Why was Emery allowed to play seven games after the injury was discovered?

“He said he could play, so we went with that,” goalie coach Jeff Reese said. “The way Ray is, he tried to play through it. Lots of guys would have shut it down. Finally, we had to shut him down.”

Holmgren said that after tests showed Emery had a tear, “we tried alternative measures – rehab, cortisone, things like that.”

Emery’s injury “absolutely” is why his play has deteriorated, Holmgren said.

http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landi...726&feedID=704

Quote:
Laviolette elected to remove Leighton on Jan. 17 at Washington – the most explosive, offensive club around – and Emery lost, 5-3. It was the first of eight straight starts for Emery, who gradually got better, but then reinjured himself, raising questions of whether he was unprepared to go that many games consecutively off an injury.

“He was healthy, he got cleared, he was waiting to play because Leighton was hot for four games,” Laviolette said. “He was ready to play and we didn't play him because we couldn't take Michael out of the net, he was winning and playing well. The schedule hasn’t been that taxing for [Emery]. He's been healthy. ...

“He's cleared to play. When someone is cleared to play and available, they're available to go into the lineup. He played a lot of games. He seemed to be fine in his rhythm. To me, he looked his best in Calgary. He just got a little bit tight. He's back on today and we'll see how he's doing.”

Yes, I can and will blame him. Conditioning is everything. If you are not prepared you will get hurt.

Yeah.. He did prepare him self with blondes in the hotels during off season...

Now he and Flyers medical staff will think of some pathetic excuse.. Sick of it..

So you do not believe in the fact that sometimes players just get injured?

I just really hope they dont overpay for Ellis and Hamhuis.

I dont want anymore picks getting thrown their way. We honestly need them.

Well he is also using the one incriminating picture of Emery to chastise him. One picture ultimately means you did **** to condition yourself. I mean just look at Richards and Carter: those bums never do anything, and look at all their pictures.

I don't know anything about Ellis. Is he any good? He would back up Leighton I assume?

Of course I do.. but in this case it was too damn obvious. Something was suppose to go wrong and did.

Says who?

And if something was going go to 'go wrong'...it wasn't a torn labrum.

Seriously, give your head a shake.
