Wild/Eastern Conference team had a deal...

...but it didn't get to the league in time. This would have been after the Belanger deal, so I wonder who it would have been, the player and the other team.

In the Wild War Room

It wouldn't have been Nolan, or Josh Harding.

Considering it was a low level pick I dont think it was a blockbuster, but its still interesting.

I'm guessing Philly for a goalie.

Philly doesn't need a goalie.

They only gave up 7 against Florida last night.

Off the top of my head of who this player could have been, I'd guess Brunette or Burns. Brunette may have been more likely.

Had to be a player with some value if they were potentially recieving a NHL roster player and a 3rd & 5th round picks.

Yeah but that's only because Florida decided not to go for the extra point. It would have been 8!

The only team that gave up 4 draft picks was Washington, I think.

So Washington was trying to to trade a 6th/7th pick for a Wild player?

To be clear,

"Deal One" was the one that didn't get done in time, involved an NHL-ready player and a 3rd rounder for a Wild player.

"Deal Two" involved a 6th/7th rounder for a Wild player, and that fell through...maybe for Boogaard?

I'm guessing the "F" player was probably Sheppard, and without knowing how good the roster player was, hard to guess who it would be from the Wild.

No, Holmgren has said all along he wasn't interested in goaltending.

I thought Russo said that Harding was yanked out of practice and was on the move...or something to that effect, it was a busy day though maybe I'm "misdisremembering"

Harding to Philadelphia is a deal I've always feared (as a Penguins fan), Harding is one of my favorite goalies and he's got a lot of talent...

I'd think you'd be looking at UFAs/RFAs... which makes Harding a likely candidate.

It doesn't look like any of the other players would be of interest to a contender.

My speculation:

Deal One:
Miettinen or Sheppard for cheap bottom-6 forward, 3rd rounder + 5th rounder. This is the one that didn't get done in time.

Deal Two:
Boogy or Hnidy for a 6th for a team looking for some grit down the stretch. Or, Ebbet for a 6th to a team that wants to add a 5th center for the playoffs.

What are the value of mid-round picks in your world? Cause GMs piss those things away like mad. Especially around the draft.

I should have said "4th liner", instead of "bottom-6 forward".

Damn. It is always interesting and curious about all these deals that could have/should have/would have happened. I know Management doesn;t want to let the cat out of the bag, but it would be pretty interesting to find out all the deals that ended up dead in the water.

Absolutely no question in my mind it was for John Scott. The Wild will not be tendering him a contract next year and would never have an interest in dealing Boogard for draft pick.

If Ebbett left, would Josh Harding play 4th line center?

I always thought Boogaard would be popular in Philly.

My bet is a deal (once again this year) with the Bruins. They had the draft picks, moved Morris to free up cap space, wanted a winger for Savard and postponed their press conference twice after the deadline.

He would be a fan favorite. Holmgren was supposedly going to sign him to an offer sheet 3 years ago but Minny got word and took him to arbitration.

Boogaard almost scored about four times on Wendesday...too bad his brain is about a half second behind his body. He's gotten so much better since working with Datsyuk in the offseason, but there's literally no change in his production because he's still not an NHL player.
