Really.... so better than Tavares, Stamkos, Kane? I have a hard time believing that but if its true than how come we haven't heard much about him and all we hear about is Larsson.

We're going to end up with Jagr for 4 years at 5.5 a year.

Whatever it is, it's going to be ugly. Katz has been trying to take the homecoming queen to the hotel after the prom for the last couple of years, and I bet he's willing to settle for the 40 year old teacher that used to be a knockout at this point...

Nicely played sir.

What can I say, I got one right for once, but as you can see, I did take a lot of snot for it. Nice to be Nostrodamus for a day.

Artyukhin? Really? Pfff. Thanks but uh no, we could just put a couple orange pylons on the ice though if that's the direction were heading.

I am waiting before I get all hyped up at the what the oilers may do in the off season. While I think the 1.6 and 2.7 mill cap hits that the oilers just got is a good thing, I am concerned about people going off the deep and spending that money without asking one question. How far away from being a playoff team are the oilers? Even before the injuries set in, the oilers were not going to be a playoff team this year without a whole pile of luck and good will. I hope the oilers do not spend to the cap for a team that will end up 10th or so in the conference. I would prefer taken then next two years and get 2 blue chip prospects in the system. Tambo and co's tough decisions have just started

Garrioch (I know, worse than Eklund, blah blah) says in the Sun that Philly will be looking to trade Gagne, Hartnell and/or Briere in the off-season. I'd say no to Briere, a little iffy on Hartnell but sign me up on Gagne!

Is that any way to respond when you just got totally owned?

I wouldn't mind going after Halpern and/or Armstrong to play in our bottom six. Even an older guy like Whitney to a one-year deal as a stopgap before bringing over Eberle and MPS.

Biggest priority should be on rebuilding our defence and goaltending.

Keep Cogliano and Comrie for next year at least, but try to get rid of Nilsson or O'Sullivan at the draft.

these are the guys i would like to see tambo go after for Dmen

sutton( older stay at home to tutor smid, peckham, plante) 2million or less for 2yrs
michalek- depends on price he wants
foster- big shot underratted dman is youngish
volchenkov- price but if souray is traded good replacement at least he can skate backwards (overpay over 2-3yrs so he can be traded when our young dmen are ready to take over)
Mara/Corvo to run the PP whoever is cheaper

IMO if tambo can land 2 or three of these guys and ship souray out for picks/prospects

THOUGHTS?

Considering the OP in that thread changes his mind later on in the same thread, I think it's safe to say no one really got "owned".

No doubt hey! Elements that are missing from this team are injury prone guys who are overpaid and don't have much size....

Guess you never picked out the sarcasm in the later response. Should have used the symbol for you.

2011 Prospects to get
A/Sean Couturier
B/Adam Larsson

every other prospects is well below these two prospects as of right now.
We will be bad enough to compete for those picks next year too. Losing all the vets and a young, green team is a surefire way to end in the bottom 3 again. Hopefully we compete every nite and are fun to watch while these guys grow and mature.

Pitsburg was in the bottom 2 3 years in a row , Chic was in the bottom 5 3 of 4 years. Rest assured if Tambi does his job we wont be overpaying for any UFas and will be smart with the RFAs. Our salary cap hopefully will be under 45 mil by sept. Then as our guys develop we pay them accordingly like Phoenix and LA and NJ as examples.

Haha no, the off-season when he went to get new sticks from some factory in Mexico. I believe that was the year Horcoff was scoring PPG before he got injured. Things were really looking up for him then. He's gone way south since then. It's a shame, really.

Two names I'm very interested in seeing the Oilers go after

Krys Barch or Adam Burish, those are gritty bottom-6ers that the Oilers so very badly need.
