Schroeder going to be playing for the Moose this weekend I think.
Wonder if Colborne will be coming out?

using his big frame to create space and his skating ability to find open lanes to drive the net. He stands 6-3 and is a natural goal scorer with plenty of confidence.
He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.
Why is there no one bemoaning the loss of the great Jason Blake? He has 4 goals (3 of them on the PP), 3 assists, and is a -7 in 18 GP for the Ducks. Damn it Burke, you gave up too much!!!
Incidentally, based on my calculations, that would indicate that his production really hasn't changed all that much going from the Leafs to the Ducks (with more of his goals coming from the powerplay in Anaheim).
Leafs
56 gp, 10g (2 on the PP), 16a, -4 ~= 0.46 PPG
Ducks
18 gp, 4g (3 on the PP), 3a, -7 ~= 0.39 PPG
18 games is a pretty small sample size but that's still a pretty lousy +/- on what should be a better team.
They were talking on the radio today about players who leave hockey markets.
They mentioned in particular how many players just cannot handle the pressure of playing in Toronto.
This was the Calgary radio sports station, and they brought up Stempniak. Said many players like to play where they don't really have professional sports teams pressures, and mentioned Phoenix is like that.

Personally, I think stuff like that is overrated. Sure pressure plays its part and some players are better adaptive to it than other but it's WAY more logical if we look at systems of playing style.

Not with Stempniak.
He had opportunity after opportunity in Toronto. RW played him around 20 minutes a night in Toronto, and he got scoring opportunities, but just could not finish. So over the season he reduced his playing time.
Stempniak is a very good example of a player who just never handled the pressure of his contract in St. Louis, and then could not do very much well at all in Toronto.

See that's the thing. Throwing opportunities at a guy doesn't always get the job done. It comes down to player management.
Alex Steen with another 2 goals last night + an assist. He now has 23 goals after coming back from a broken wrist just a couple of games into the season.
2 of the 4 teams we're closest to, and if we want any chance of getting out we need to stay close to all 4.
Thought we'd post a game watch and follow it along together since a lot of us are individually and just discuss where we are how we're going to get out/can we get out.
gaining 3 pts of ground is very hard to do this time of year, and when 3 of the 4 teams we're chasing have a game in hand, and the other has two games in hand.
Buffalo currently winning 2-1 against Florida and Montreal is up 1-0 against Carolina. Hopefully they both lose. Also Tampa is playing right now against the Pens. I hope Crosby scores like 3 goals and Stamkos too but Pens win in regulation.
