Kings v Predators: Perfunctory Post Game

It had to be made.

Whatever.

More later.

Blah blah blah

Quote:
Credit the Kings on one thing in this poorly played loss. They never gave up. Tonight’s sucky outcome was not for lack of trying. This was entirely a case of just not having it as a unit, as opposed to individual players not giving it their all. Even OD. I know you are all really mad at him right now, but as my grandmother would have said “I’m sure he doesn’t want to be old, slow and clearly losing stars to gaze at in the twilight of his career.”

Oh well...can't win them all.

The Kings need to re-evaluate how certain players are used, in particular Wayne Simmonds and Jarret Stoll, and that is going in opposite directions.

Stoll needs to never see the PP again, not on the second unit, not on the first unit and certainly not on a 4 on 3 or 5 on 3. And he also has no business being on the ice in the final minute of a game when we are trying to tie the game, again I like Stoll as an ES and PK guy, but he is clearly way over his head in these roles that the Kings are giving him, the guy is a 3rd line center with a 3rd line skill set, please let him play that role.

Simmonds needs to play with higher skilled guys, I know you guys love Clune, but he doesn't have the skill to play with Simmonds, please put Wayne back on the line with Frolov and Handzus or with Kopitar.

Frolov and Greene were the only guys you could say played at their usual standard, but meh, we lost a game away from home against a good team. More importantly, we played unbelievably bad defence yet came close to beating a likely playoff bound team

The Kings played a bad game and didn't deserve to win tonight.
Nashville plays soo boring- they remind me of Vancouver. Just bleh hockey.

If Auger gets 1 playoff game I'm gonna puke. Him and Joannette are horrific referees that shouldn't even call peewee games.

I only saw the second half of the second and the third. The things that bothered me was the Kings weren't pressuring the puck and didn't seem to be finishing their checks. Again, only saw the second half of the game. Some other things bothered me, but those two things really stood out to me.

I would like to insert Harrold on D for a few games in place of Jones.

I don't get the logic that "they played like **** but almost won...oh well."

"This playoff off series was tied at 2-2 but the Kings played like **** in game 5, but almost won...oh well."

I just don't see how it's acceptable that they play like this down the stretch. The mental mistakes that were consistently being made just cannot happen at this time of year. The flubbed passes up the middle in the defensive zone, the complete lack of communication between Quick and his defenseman, the utter collapse of the forecheck where the first forward had absolutely no support. These are not habits that should be creeping into the team's game at this time of the year.

Auger and the Preds are each our kryptonite. I figured playing both, they'd cancel each other out...it appears not

Ugly game. Refs weren't that good today but not too bad. Quick showing signs of Marty Turco there. I knew that goal in the beginning of the game was gonna get us. Did Stoll lose a face off today? Doughty and Frolov both played pretty good until at the end where Fro just flicked the puck to the Preds d-man. Still showing signs of rust after the break, luckily the Stars suck. Well...Off to the the Habs.

Still rusty from the break.

The Kings are the Preds *****.

On to the irony... Jones +1. JJ and DD were both -2's.

I don't want people to think that I'm saying the sky is falling, but these are problems that were evident in the Dallas game, but they escaped too much notice since the Kings won.

This obviously isn't the end of the world, but if these same things are happening on Saturday it will signify a disturbing trend at a crucial time of the season.

Dude, I know you're a big Doughty fan but he was absolutely terrible. Worse than Jones tonight.

-_- That's pushing it. I agree that he wasn't very good overall, but I wouldn't say worse than Jones... That is quite the insult, I would save that one for Ivanans or Hitler.

Drewiskie just came off from an injury. So he's a 50/50. Harry hasn't been that bad of a dman lately. We should have gotten a dman during the deadline.
