A powerplay goal, a blatant turnover by the goalie, and an empty netter because Frolov somehow can't dump the puck in. Nobody on the Kings played great, but none of the goals tonight were on the D.

Scuds and OD were on the ice for the turnover by Quick.

Just a little overboard on saying Jones played better than Doughty... Jones should be playing in the AHL right now. And I believe Doughty scored a goal tonight and I know that if you just score a goal doesn't mean you played an overall good game. But I would really like to hear what Doughty did that made him absolutely terrible. I didn't think he played one of his normal games but he still did not do that bad....

Stephane Auger is the Ed Hochuli of the NHL lol

but seriously, let's move on, one thing this team lacks is the ability to bounce back after a loss, let's destroy those french losers, please boys?

Worst thing about tonight was the realization that we have to play these guys twice more. They own us. They seem to anticipate everything we try to do. They really clog up the passing lanes and prevent us from going low to high. They intimidate our defense so there is always too much space between our defense and their attackers. Kryptonite.

playing bad and losing away to a playoff team is easier to swallow.

Quick was terrible and brilliant at the same time.

Danger: Avs and Yotes 1-1 5 mins left in the 3rd.. Worst thing possible is both teams to get pts.

Kopitar, Brown and Smyth as a unit have had one good game out of the last seven. Recent wins have been on the backs of Frolov, Handzus, Richardson and Doughty - how in the world does this not set off 4-alarm bells in Terry Murray's head?

That first line contributes next to nothing at even strength.

Those players were in slow motion tonight on both teams. Not a lot of jump in the step tonight. Despite Quick's whoopsie on the first goal, he does give the team a chance to win it every game, they just didn't have the energy it seems.

Hopefully next game will be played more inspired.

Dude, Jones was our third best dman tonight. I hate when people automaticaly think a player played either good or bad based off their reputation.

Wolski just scored with 23 secs left to give the Coyotes a 2-1 lead

Kings aren't going to win every road game folks. They split the road trip coming off the Olympic break. I'm satisfied. Now time to come home and get a win for the crowd.

Well no, but it shows that the kings are a good team if they play that bad yet just come up short against a good team

Absolutely. I hate seeing Brown on Kopitar's wing. Put Simmonds back with Kopitar and Stoll and Brown should be back together. It's ****ing science at this point.

Id say thats something this team actually does very well. This year they have generally won the games after the played poorly

So, I missed the game, thought the wife had it recorded, come home and...she has no idea what happened. She blamed the DVR while I laughed and told her it was ok. So, no game.

What did I miss?

Here's what you missed:

1. Kings not hitting anyone.

2. Quick's puck-movement skills took the night off.

3. Doughty decided he couldn't take over in this game.

4. Kings passing was weak.

5. Preds played a good game for the most part.

6. Officials seriously pissing me off in the first and most of the second periods.

Props to Doughty and Kopi in their post-game interviews for not blaming the refs or the bounces or anything but themselves. They might just be saying what they're 'supposed' to say, but I like that they take full responsibility for creating their own luck--not blaming bad bounces, miffed calls--and acknowledging they have to pick up the compete level.

I still can't get over Auger though, and I'm not even placing that squarely on tonight. That ****** is consistent in being an issue.

The Preds are our kryptonite, but them and the Canucks...both teams play that stifling style against us and it's game over. Hope no one else picks up on that

Playing 1/2 a period short handed didn't help matters
Olympic fever fading
Strong defensive team < Van - Cal - Nash = Kings weakness >

Just not a well played game from either team.
