We want a win! We want a win! Grebs with a goal, Weber with a goal, Suter with a goal.

We win 3-1 if Ellis is in net.

Boyd will not play tonight and will meet the team in Detroit this evening due to immigration issues.

Rinne will start again tonight for the Predators against Jon Quick. I suspected this would be the match-up, but believe Ellis will be starting tomorrow in Detroit due to his experience and success against them in the past...

I never think of Canadians as "immigrants."
It's a shame though, I would have liked to have given him a home welcome for his first game with us instead of having to be in the brutal arch nemesis's house tomorrow night for his first Predator game.

I figured this too. Pekka is obviously still in sort of a funk and Ellis has been doing well, so the only reason Peks got the call tonight was because they want Ellis to be against Detroit tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to the game tonight! The guys have a tendency to play to their competition, which is why I think it was so close on Tuesday. But the Kings are a higher caliber and I hope that makes us come out strong.

Three straight lost defensive zone draws, then a team loss on a fourth leads to a bad goal against just a minute into the game...

1-0 Kings

Considering the start I have no idea. I like the Kings, would like to see them in the playoffs.

Quick misplays a puck behind the net, Dumont pounces on the loose puck and deposits it into an empty net. 1-1...

First goal had me ready to give up on this team, just that fast! LOL

Second goal, to make it one - one had me back on the bandwagon just that Quick...

Come on Preds!

We open up with O'Reilly, Wilson, Dumont, Hamhuis and Klein on the PP. WTH sort of unit is that?

Oops, not sure what I thought, I guess it was Suter and Boullon. Still, odd choices with two rooks and Dumont.

It's called PP2. Unit makeup isn't our problem...entering the zone and establishing possession is...

I thought PP2 would have Grebeshkov on it. Plus I didn't expect O'Reilly. I was surprised to see no defender with a great slapshot but I had the defenders way wrong. Suter is ok but I don't see Bouillon as the guy who aids entering the zone and setting up. I was just surprised to see an O'Reilly instead of a veteran if Wilson is on there. I would prefer Legwand. Leggy can get the puck into the zone, along with Wilson. But Trotz never uses the guy's I expect on the PP, so nothing new.

Ok, regroup. Not a bad result recovering from the lame first goal.

Tied at the end of 1, I'll take it...

Preds gotta bear down and figure out a way to win some faceoffs, especially in the defensive zone. Whether it is a clear win by the center or a team win, we cannot continue to keep handing the Kings chances off the draw...

Offensively, we've got to simply bear down and start burying some chances. Creating enough offense off the forecheck, but not getting traffic to the front and allowing Quick to see pucks. More pucks and more traffic at the net...

Power play is weak...they cannot transition the puck into the zone and gain control to start the offense. We get out numbered and out worked by the PK units and this has been a problem for a long, long time...

PK has to survive the second period...got two PP opportunities in the first and I felt got away with a couple calls in the last two minutes...expect the next penalty to be on the Preds...

NHL officials are way too high quality to ever let the thought of makeup calls sway their objective view of the game.

One good setup on that third PP. Rest of the time struggling to get possession in the zone ..... cut, paste, use repeatedly.

The "just keep putting our best players out on the PP" approach paid off.

That may be Arnys nicest goal this season. An absolute laser. And a nice pass from Erat. Needed that one.
