When will Iceland turn into a top 10 hockey nation?

Any ideas?

Is there a chance?

What's the popularity of hockey in Iceland?
What's the national sport in Iceland?
What kind of hockey infrastructure is there in Iceland at this moment?
Is there any chance the sport can grow in Iceland?
Is there a reason why hockey is not big in Iceland?
Who's the most talented Icelandic hockey player of all time?

You know...I want to see a Team Iceland at the Winter Olympics. It would be so cool! And if they could hold their own against the elite hockey nations like Canada, Russia, then that would be even cooler! I wonder what their national jerseys look like? Something off the shape of their flag's colors?

Just because it's called Iceland doesn't mean they have to be a top 10 hockey nation.

Of course because Iceland is very nice. It's Greenland that is covered in ice.

Everyone knows that.

Triple deke, glove side.

Neveh. It's a damn shame though, team Iceland is such a cool name for a hockey team.

The country is bankrupt. I don't think hockey is a priority at the moment.

It's only been less than 11 years since playing their first international game at the senior level. Wikipedia lists the number of teams in their league as '3 or 4.'

Well then they should probably get on it. People clearly will pay to watch Iceland play hockey. What do they have to lose?

Iceland not doing so hot.

Greenland would do better, but I think their players play for the Danish team (which is on the rise).

Iceland being in DIV II is actually a huge boost for their program, which was a DIV III dweller for a few years.. they beat DPRK and Israel last year to stay in DIV II..

Idk if youre serious about Greenland, but I dont think they have any ice hockey rinks, let alone ice hockey teams...

They do have a proper, yet albeit outdoor rink.

Of course, the chance is always there. But, the country is bankrupt. So, it will take a long...long...long...time.

Same as many other countries. Not enough rinks, and little interest.

They will dominate when Gunner Stahl learns to finally outsmart the Cat and bury the triple deke on the glove side. Book it.
