Can we all petition Colin Campbell to suspend Lapierre? That was a nasty hit, but maybe we can get lucky and he gets suspended for the rest of the season?
It's for the good of the team, we're better off without him.
Here is my example of a letter:
Good day Mr. Campbell, my name is tiz and I would like you to seriously consider suspending Montreal Canadiens forward Maxim Lapierre for the rest of the season. I personally feel his hit on Scott Nichol yesterday evening in San Jose was worthy of a suspension, but I also feel his play this year also merits a look from the NHL office. Mr. Lapierre is a very disappointing -13 this year, only Paul Mara is worse and his case may be referenced in a follow up letter requesting another suspension of a Montreal Canadiens player. Mr. Lapierre has followed up his career year last season where he scored 15 goals and 13 assists in 79 games with an underwhelming 6 goals and 6 assists in 65 games. Needless to say, he was probably worse than Matt D'Agostini who also couldn't be sent down to the Bulldogs. Unlike D'Agostini, the Canadiens were unable to find a team stupid enough to trade anything for Mr. Lapierre. I call upon you, Mr. Campbell, I know that our fanbase and the NHL head office has had some problems in the past (See: Richard) but I guarantee many of those sins will be forgiven if you help us by removing Mr. Lapierre from our roster.
I would like for you to take your time in considering this, as it is of great concern for myself and the rest of the fans.
I believe he should be suspended at least 2 games, but if the hit on cammalleri is anything to go by, the NHL will close their eyes. The league and it's officials are becoming pathetic. Tripping call on Pleks with a clean hip check and no penalty on Lapierre for boarding, pretty sad the officials don't know the sport they officiate...
I think that the SJ analyst was exagerating a lot the hit of Lapierre and that Nichol could be an excellent soccer player (the shaking leg, etc.).
It was like Lapierre pull a McSorley or Bertuzzi and they describe him as a guy who does more cheap shots than M.Richards. Come on, they see him once a year or two. Lapierre is mostly a victim of those kind of hit and he never complains.
Usually I don't like dirty hits, but sadly they are common in the NHL, wich does not mean that it is acceptable. He deserved a 10 and the rest of the game at worst.
Suspension worthy for sure... an embarrassing hit. No need for it in the sport. Campbell should send a message and suspend a guy 1-3 games EACH and EVERY time someome hits a defenseless player like that.
Chris Lee sucks (there's no question about that), but his worst moment of the game was the non-call on Lapierre. Nothing else even comes close. He was right there and completely missed it. We always complain (with good reason) about Lee after each game of ours that he refs, but I think Sharks fans have more to complain about this morning than we do.
I honestly don't know what the big deal is, Lapierre was good against Boston and last night he made RF b**** f**p and it was darn funny to listen to. On top of that Lapierre just gave him a push into the boards, it was nothing drastic from my POV, didn't even use his full force but it was the other player's fault for the way he absorbed the hit he kinda put himself in danger by ducking into it. That's why it went uncalled even though the referee was 2 feet away and saw what happened.
