JT, the ultimate 3rd Scoring Line Center?

I've been worried that we wont have the secondary scoring to do well in the playoffs. Since JT can be effective with most decent players, I thought, "If we can create 2 good scoring lines without Jumbo, we can fill in the blanks with JT and have a 3rd good (or at least decent) scoring line.

This thread is meant to try and construct the best lines without using JT in the top 2.

I'm at work and must move on, but my initial thought was that Manny and Joe may work because manny is good a Face-offs (JT is always gettin booted) and has a rocket of a shot... and Orty on the other side would make it the MO-Joe line, haha.

The problem is, no matter what lines you but together, the line JT is on will always be considered 'the top line'. Just proof of his immense skill. Plus it's tough to separate Heatley from JT.

That said, to your point.

For this season:

Marleau - Pavelski - Heatley
Clowe - Malhotra - Seto
Mitchell - JT - Ortmeyer

? I dunno, best I could do. I see that lineup struggling mightely

For later seasons you can include Couture and that would help.

He did alright with Cheechoo and Scott Thornton on his wings. That's really not all that different from Malhotra and Ortmeyer...

But this should be unnecessary, because we were getting plenty of secondary scoring when CLOWE WAS ON THE THIRD LINE!!!

haha, I wish I could blame it on something in the air. At worst, I figured its a little different from the re-hash we see all the time.

Also, let's face it, with Joe its all about chemistry and players that can get open and shoot the one-timer... Heatley is no doubt an excellent fit as he can get open and get a shot off with the best of them, but I'm not sure it's smart have 20M tied up on the 1st line... and showcasing that all year long makes teams more used to defending it.

or maybe moving thornton with a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners will instead of just making 3 stronger lines will in turn make 2 lines basically useless.

I think McGinn with Thornton would be interesting. McGinn can score goals already by himself if Thornton feeds him passes he would have tons of tallies.

No, we must re-sign him for our "Choker" line.

Heatley-Blake-Clowe (the slowest line of all-time)
Mitchell-Malhotra-Nichol (the "all speed, no hands" line)
Nabokov-Thornton-Marleau (gotta keep all the chokers on one line to limit damage)
Staubitz-Pavelski-Joslin (Pavelski centering two players who can't do ****)
