Martin is doing fine......he is not the problem. Back to back games you need both goalies, gotta keep Halak in the mix.
Babcocks Red Wings are not doing that great this year. Stop blaming the coach, the team is not ready for prime time....close, but not quite there.
I usually don't blame the coach, but he's just not teaching this team how to score and defensively, we aren't doing enough of it to win games (nor are we capable if that's what we choose to adopt as a strategy, i.e. sitting back on one goal leads...it almost worked for Babcock's TC cuz they were capable of it).
The Wings have had some pretty key injuries to players who, i hate to say, make a bigger impact on their team. As much as I love our players, and I do...the wings have legit all stars, more than one Markov level player who have been out. Don't get me wrong, injuries are WHY we are where we are, just Detroit has had it as bad. I also don't think the wings should be doing as bad as they are and belieeeeeeve me, with my two cousins being die hard wings fans and hab haters, I'm pretty happy they are losing, but in THAT case, it's not the coach. In our case....I think JM does know how to play a system, but that's the problem: a system, not many. You need more than one to be able to adjust with a team that plays that one system so poorly.
as for back to back games - that's the point. Let Carey start tonight cuz he's played so well and then tomorrow give it to Jaro irrespective since it's a back to back. Bring in a somewhat rusty halak tonight and a potentially momentum-sapped Price (I don't think it'll be that bad, but for argument's sake) tomorrow, seems like the wrong strategy.
I will admit it's not completely JM's fault. Pouliot should have put that in at the end and Sergei should have scored earlier, but it's time more than ever for a Martin outburst (even a positive, encouraging one) in whatever form. I know he's different in practices, but he too often seems to be frustrated rather than dealing with the situation. Time is of the essence and he seems not to know what buttons to push or rather hits the wrong one.
That was sarcasm you know! Old fashion sarcasm by me....not you.....me.
I figured if i put the sarcasm it might ruin it for other people, nice one though trying to make me look ******** like I was completely serious. I bet you were holding onto that since you made the post knowing some other tool might answer seriously.
Nice to see cammy still involve with the team and helping Price to stay calm.
I thought Babcock made a lot of stupid faces. He looked confused and if Crosby had not of scored he would have been scorned and ridiculed.
I liked Carbo, he is free of this and is laughing and chuckling. Gainey was seen with a slight smile the other day, he is free of this to.
well I disagree about Babcock, but not a big point, it's pretty subjective I guess. If what you're saying is that this team is impossible to coach...you might have a point, but I don't think it's the case. I think there are coaches that could make this team perform better than they have. JM has done a good job, just not a stellar one. I also think Gainey's faces came more from the mediots, not from being the GM or interim coach of the team. He loves the Habs and he would not for one second consider himself "free". He's as much a fan as any of us, although he's probably a better fan than most.
Make no mistake, Carbo would love to be coaching THIS team right now. Maybe he's chuckling cuz there's a Gold medal in his family now.
