thank god, stupid political move didn't go through...last thing KHL needs is to pay for a Czech team, while Russian teams are bowing out one after another. What's the attendance for Yugra right now? I am hesitant about them also..

More Russian teams with level of Vishaya liga = FAIL.

I agree, but that may trigger using more guys from MHL. On the other side you bring a team from another country where you have two options: look for sponsors in Russia (why?) or risk having a one or worse 1/2 season-wonder from abroad.

Nobody said it didnt go through. They have stil 8 days of time. Thing that Shalaev said means if Hradec will be able to prepare everything needed, they will play KHL. Shalaev only said it is not done yet.

So if i understood correctly several team officially aplied to be in the KHL next season: Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, HC Budivelnyk Kiev, Krylya Sovetov Moscow, Lev Hradec Králové, Vėtra Vilnius & Gazovik Tyumen. But only Yugra & Budivelnyk have a good case.

On the other hand the future of Lada as a KHL-team looks doubtfull.

As I understand that, if that "council of directors" gives them final licence, they will just try to find some free agents and make the team. But it must be quick. They are not many free agents left. And there is still that Czech hockey federation issue. They could be troubling them but hopefully not.

This whole thing has nothing to do with former Hradec club... it would be more like HC Budivelnyk. New team with new players. But nothing is real yet. I'm afraid czech federation will trouble it a lot (something like AIK Stockholm case) I hope I'm wrong.

This is stupid. They have no roster and the free-agent market is getting smaller by the minute and the arena still needs to be renovated.

They should do it right and plan for the 2011-12 season, not rush HC Lev into the league just for quick expansion.

No man, every expansion always sucks. Let them join, feel the pinch, and smarten up for 2011 2012. instead of being an expansion team then. Besides they can add players mid season and stuff.

if avto is out and cant honor their contracts, then there's a starting point of FAs to nab up

plus im sure there are czech/slovak players who will be available over the next month or two

Question for russian posters here:

Is there any chance that directors of KHL could give this team permision to play KHL without consent of czech federation? Everything is ready, money and other things, but czech idiotic hockey federation for some reason declined to give them it's consent.

I don't see how a private organization can be legally prevented from playing in any league they want.

especially considering HC Lev would be an expansion team, and not even a member of the federation (yet)
