I know Bryzgalov just got beat but in the end he will determine this series.. I like the USA player Howard and respect his patience in the AHL but in the end-Bryzgalov should win this series.

Edit: Howard just gave up a softie..

4-2 PHX

For every Cam Ward, there's a sea of rookie goalies that have flopped in their first playoffs.

Including our own rookie goalie, Matthew, though that probably should be considered a collective fail on our team's effort last post-season.

The Justin.TV feed of the Penguins game occasionally has the audio of John Forslund & the color guy for Versus talking during the break. Listening for something interesting.

Not that this is an original thought, but Matt Cooke is one of the most disgusting players ever to suit up. He's going to end someone's career eventually.

No sweeps in the quarters this year, all 8 series went 1-1 in the first two games.. which means all 8 home teams lost home ice advantage after two games...sort of rare.

The Hawks beat Nashville 2-0 tonight.

Looks like Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are doing their annual costume party wherein Joe dresses as the Tin Man and Patrick dresses up like the invisible man. Big time off-season acquisition Dany Heatley has an "upper body injury." Is the lack of a soul now an upper body injury? How long before the bum demands anothe trade?

I love watching SJ and Detroit struggle.

Nice. His salary should count against the Av's tonight. Although according to the PIM in the chart, he's spent 6 days in the box. (?)

Perhaps the most one-sided game I've ever seen, and it ended in a 1-0 loss in OT. Brutal!

I believe it was deflected by O'Reilly. Not really any reason to blame Boyle there, just plain bad luck.

I'm getting close to never picking San Jose in a playoff series again.

Kinda interesting to see two quick OT goals in as many days. Backstrom at 31 seconds Saturday night, O'Reilly at 51 seconds.

The San Jose Sharks...

Chuck Norris in the regular season,

Wile E. Coyote in the playoffs.

I know we're never allowed to cheer for a team with Adam Foote, but the schadenfreude I'm experiencing from the San Jose-Colorado series is refreshing.

I really hope Colorado can hold on. But then again, you can't lose 'em all.

Thanks for posting this, TW. Great piece.

Then a RJ for Thornton trade should be in the works this offseason.

What a brutal way to lose a playoff game.

I think you can imagine my reaction if we were dumb enough to make that trade.

Anderson deserved the win regardless of how he got it. Reminded me of the performance Luongo had in an OT game a few years back in Anaheim.

Wow, the Broons and Slugs are putting together one hell of a hockey game! We would be a bug splat on the windshield in a game of this intensity. Looking at our roster and its very troublesome with how soft our team is. Outside of Dorsett, and run away Boll, we're creampuffs. Commy might hit someone if the other player is skating in sand, but there really is no one to fear at all on this team.

Your right on, one of the most physical games I've ever seen and Buffalo's little guys where getting creamed in the board battles most of the night. Tough loss for the Sabres but a solid win by the Boston club, the odds of a Sabre series win is now only 30%, Pete should be happy.

Raffi was part of their only goal, he got the puck off the boards to Grier who beat Rask..fourth line. Torres needs to be moved up imo, the scoring lines of Buffalo are ineffective but without Hecht and Vanek it's understandable. Stafford played but he obviously is not in game shape yet.

Of note: the vs. announcers mentioned Dineen and his solid work with young players Ennis and Gerbe in Portland..

Agreed, I missed the Habs but saw some highlights... I wonder if Ovi got into Halaks head when he said he saw him shaking in game two? The odds for Montreal winning the series are now the same as Buffalo-30%.

That said it may have been slightly tipped.. VS slow motion replay shows it was redirected, they say Nabokov was not ready and was at fault.
