"Every game, every point is a necessity." -- Ty Conklin, January 2007
"I'll have a chance to compete for the post of first issue. This is the most important thing." -- Sergei Bobrovsky, June 2012
I'm a pretty big Tkachuk fan. He's a Jacket killer (honestly, what big stars in the central division aren't?) but he's pretty important to American hockey.
I remember when he got his 600th goal in the last game of the 07-08 season. Didn't get the booing....
Don't make me go back and explain this to YOU of all people, we had to 'splain this to all the Blues fans at the time.
The fan's weren't booing Keith, they were booing a bad effort in a bad game, and giving up an empty net goal at the end of it. When they announced WHO scored, and that it was his 600th goal, the fans quit booing, and many cheered.
Same, HP. Went with my brother to a game in March. First time I'd been there in more than a decade. Fond memories, but (and I never thought I'd say this) its time had passed.
I'm sure it has. I stopped making the trips shortly after the Jackets came to town, probably 2002. With what I've heard WRT the arena and it's condition it might have been best to leave fond childhood memories as just that.
