My two year contract was up with Cablevision and they increased the package from $170 to like $225 or something like that. I called and told them I was considering switching to Verizon and they kept me at the introductory rate for another 2 years. All you have to do is call and state your complaint, backed with some numbers.

Sounds fair to me. Pay up Dolan.
ABC pulled the plug

That Rebecca Campbell really needs to tone down her rhetoric. She is making CVC look sympathetic here. Switching your service. Let Disney pay all of the fees involved in that process.

Why do all of the power hungry woman look the same?

Look at WABC's message

Talk about a F U.

Fox and Time Warner had a dispute in December. Fox didn't pull the plug.

Not too amazing when you think about it. It is a pain in the ass to switch and switch back, most won't do it. Its called business.

A smart consumer would do it if the Cablevision is willing to do all the work.

I'd gladly switch to Verizon for 3 months and then go back to CVC at a cheaper rate than I was paying before (which I did) if they're going to do all the work. Heck Verizon even put new cable wires through my house which improved signal greatly.

I'm kind of surprised anyone really gives a ****, but then again, I don't remember the last time I actually watched something other than basketball on ABC.

Another case of two greed driven corporations duking it out, while the real loser is neither of them, it's the consumer.

*sigh*

Here is the email I just got from Cablevision.....

Due to the disruption ABC has caused, Cablevision invites you to enjoy our entire slate of on demand movies at no charge today, Sunday March 7th. To order, go to the iO TV main menu, select On Demand, then Movies on Demand, then choose your movie.

Just a heads up for everyone.

When you order, does it still have a price next to the movie? Or does it still say $4.95?

Yeah, that'd be great. I lost my voice so calling is not an option for me lol. Every March I see to get sick, and that is the only time over the coarse of the year when I do, at least in the past 5 years or so. Weird. Always a bad sinsus infection / soar throat.

When you go to the iO TV main menu, and select On Demand, then Movies on Demand. On the right hand side a message came up for me that said " All ON Demand Movies are free for March 7th. Any purchases will be credited to your account"

Make sure you see that message, I don't want you guys ordering movies and getting charged. I doubt they would just do this for select customers though. I didn't even call to complain. I got the email at 4pm today.

I am watching the movie "The Box" right now. It is interesting so far.

Mine just froze too. Typical Cablevision, they try and do something to make things better and they don't account for the volume of people that would be ordering movies and the whole thing crashes. Can't make it up.

Inglorious is really good. The informant is #2 on my list. I am about 45 minutes into the Box, it froze as it was getting good.

Especially since they claim that when these networks charge Cablevision more, this will in turn charge the customer more.. and nobody wants that.

The only thing I'm pissed about is missing the Oscars, but I'll just find the winners on-line.
Shouldn't you be watching the Ranger game anyway instead of the Oscars???
