Why are we spending money on these guys? I'd rather have a cheap 6th round prospect then this guy.

Spare part.

I would just like to point out:

54gp 4g 13a 17
50gp 4g 7a 11

WHICH ONE IS MUELLER AND WHICH ONE IS NOKELAINEN.
hehe.

I seem to recall playing as Nokelainen on NHL 04 in a euro league. Thats the extent of my knowledge.

That was Moen and Niedermyer.

Nokeleinen was in Bostons org. at that time I think.

Nokelainen is under contract for next season at $950,000 (one-way deal).

I don't see the point of this trade.

I like Nokelainen for the same reasons I like Korpikoski. Works hard, good in his own end. I have no problem with this deal, depth is never a bad thing.

Werent Nokelainen and Korpikoski part of a devastating Finnish junior line? Along with Lauri Tukonen.

I like this trade plenty. Don just keeps on going.

Right you are regarding the Finnish Trio.

2004 NHL Draft the following players were selected:

Draft#:1 - Alexander Ovechkin
Draft#:2 - Evgeny Malkin
Draft#:5 - Blake Wheeler
Draft#:6 - Al Montoya
Draft#:8 - Alexandre Picard
Draft#:11 - Lauri Tukonen
Draft#:16 - Petteri Nokelainen
Draft#:19 - Lauri Korpikoski
Draft#:21 - Wojtek Wolski

That's what I love about the draft and prospects. Can you imagine if we would have somehow traded guys around to get 5 first round picks in 2004 and ended up with Montoya, Picard, Nokelainen, Korpikoski and Wolski on draft day? People around here would have **** themselves at the time and now out of those 5 guys who are now Coyotes property only 2 are regular NHL guys with 1 being a consistent producer. But that "what could be" speculation is always still there and what makes it fun.

The 2004 draft was the first draft I really followed. I guess that explains my obsession with Korpikoski and Nokelainen.

oh my god!, if the capitals had drafted malkin a head of ovechkin, the penguins could have both ovechkin and crosby on the same team!!

Said as if having Malkin and Crosby on one team wasn't worthy

2004 must've been the first year DM ordered Redline's Draft Guide.

And Malkin would actually have a good player in Semin to pass the puck to.

2004 must have been one of those paradox years. Like some cosmic alignment or something. A great draft. But wasn't it the 2004 WHJ Tournament that produced half of the Canada & USA game from Sunday?

To me that wasnt a really good draft. Yea you have 2 really great players in Malkin and OV but besides that.....not much. Montoya is still questionable if he'll ever pan out and out of those guys, Wolski is probably the best not including Malkin and OV. This is probably because of the best development. Thats why I am happy Boedker and Turris are in the A.
