Isn't that the 2nd to last boss? How far into the game are you.

It's about 2/3 of the way through the game.

Pretty sure that fight is also the largest in scale ever.

the God of War Trilogy soundtrack and the God of War Blood and Metal EP are both available for free download via the godofwar.com website.

http://n4g.com/ps3/NewsCom-493676.aspx?CT=1

here's a direct link to both if interested ...

i just downloaded them for the hell of it ...haven't listened to them yet, but i always thought the GOW soundtrack was pretty kick ass.

Remember this clip from the end of the first GoW?

That's what I imagine they're talking about and where the franchise will go from here.

First time since I got the Gravity Gun in Half-Life 2 that I've blown away by a video game. The Hephaestus sequence right after was pretty awesome too.

The animations are so smooth in this game. I don't think I've ever seen lip syncing or facial expressions as spot-on in a video game as it is in this one.

Spoil:
Turning Hercules' face into ground beef was pretty balls to the wall satisfying too.

How is the fighting system in this game? I only played the first GoW and felt it was a little too button mashy.

it's still more of a common sense approach though, not really a complex combo system like bayonetta. but you still gotta manage your space and get your timing right to pull off the hard finishers. it does really perfect this type of beat em up though. the other weapons are actually useful, the combat grapple mixes things up a bit, and its pretty challenging on the higher difficulties. i didn't think the combat was dull or button mashy, i'd always find the most success mixing in special attack modifiers and switching weapons for specific enemies and had a ton of fun with it, but i also loved the first 2 god of war games.

It's a lot more fluid and streamlined. You can switch weapons on the fly which gives you a lot more creativity in terms of combos and such. Also magic is tied to a weapon so that you don't get confused by the D-pad menu. Like the poster above me said the alternative weapons are actually useful in this game, especially the Cestus (bigass lion gauntlets).

Just got this game off amazon today, played it for about 3-4 hours and it's ****ing awesome, I wasn't that impressed with the demo but the game definately has lived up to expectations. The boss battles really are epic. Wish I didn't work tommorow.

This game is freaking insane! WOW!
BTW, I really enjoyed the Poseidon killing scene. Pretty cool to see it from his POV.

The last fight is kind of meh.

It's awesome how everything fits into real greek mythology. I know that was the idea, but it didn't really come together until the end.

just beat it
this game was EPIC! so many moments of where is just went "did I just really do that?"

The ending to the game (not storyline) was one probably one of the best ever.

Spoil:
The first time you guys were in Hades and after you pass the 3 kings to meet Pandora and you hear the disembodied voice telling you will meet soon, is that Kratos's brother?

10/10

I am frustrated at the part after saving Pandora, where you are falling down the chain. I feel cheated cos things get so narrow, that I cant see or recover quick enough. Is this a glitch? Is anyone else having difficulties at this stage?

This may seem lame, considering how many people out there have already beat the game but I'm stuck on Hades and can't seem to make any progress. I spent a solid hour on him last night to no avail, I continuously make it past the 2nd prompt and then he keeps sending the cerebruses and chain arms at me and ive got no time to attack him. Any suggestions?

Oh man, I FINALLY got past that part and when I land, what do they reward me with??!??! Dang was I pissed. I hated anything to do with flying and it really cheapened the experience for me.

I finished the game early in the evening and have had the entire evening to think about it. It was button-mash-ville. I found myself abusing L1+square no matter what weapon I was using.

This game has a lot of merits, but Bayonetta does gameplay better.

I finished the game just a few days ago. Have had time to check out some of the other content on the disc, and do a 2nd playthrough on Titan mode.

My short review:

- Button mashfest (to steal Vizzie's interpretation ).
- The puzzle difficulty left me a little wanting.
- Re-playability is almost non-existent* (unless you're a trophy fiend, which I am, but even then it's not really there.
- Absolutely stunning graphics, and scenery.
- Really nifty story arc. In quite a few spots I really did feel like I was interacting with Greek Myth lore within the context of the game.

Spoil:
* There IS the challenge unlock after you beat the game, however, I finished all of them in around 30-40 minutes, so after that it was done and done.

Totally glad I picked this game up even though I had some issues with it. I can see myself picking it up again in a couple months to try and best chaos mode.
