No Spezza, No Karlsson, No Ryan, No Anderson, No Many Others, No Problem! 3-2 Sens.

We just beat Toronto with a pretty terrible roster.

Solid yeoman's effort at the ACC against the Leafs stars.

Lots of jump and Lehner held down the fort.

Pesky Sens mentality still going strong.

Wiercioch with a strong game.

Leafs giveaways under pressure were pretty dramatic.

Dude. No spoilers in the title.

It's only preseason, but you have to get into good habits now, for the season.

Edited.

Really impressed with the overall team game tonight. The D had active sticks all night breaking lots of plays and took away passing lanes off the rush. Forwards were speedy and taking advantage of good puck movement and made the Leafs D look slow (even though they are quite mobile on paper imo).

Wiercioch continues to impress and I'm really pleased with the play of Andre Petersson thus far. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at that 2nd line RW position in the next game.

It was nice to see the boys finally shut down that menace Kadri tonight.

I like how Leaf fans were boasting a few nights ago about beating our line-up without their "stars" and how they cant wait to see how bad they'd destroy us with a full team. And then we go in there and beat them with that line up lol

Jimmy O'Brien has resurfaced! He should wear #11.

How do you fit him into the lineup though? I just want him to play well so Ottawa can get an asset for him.

Reading the many arguments about our team that were extrapolated from that game is even more amusing now.

They were outplayed from start to finish.

Employing their logic, everything about their franchise is terrible.

Of course it is preseason - a shame they didn't notice after our first tilt.

Pageau to the minors to start. That allows him to stay on the roster. Then Zibanejad and Smith on the wing, and Da Costa on the 3rd line and 2nd PP.

in about 80% of the preseason games I've watched this yr the B squad team wins. The Vets don't seem to care too much, plus Carlyle decided to give the guys a huge bag skate yesterday. He wasn't happy with the effort his vets were giving and it didn't look like they got the message.

Stone looked great tonight, he needs to be on the team. If need be, we should make a trade to create spots for both him and Pageau. He looked great with Turris and MacArthur (who both had very solid games) and that line was very effective tonight. MacArthur is starting to win me over with his play.

I was very impressed with Ceci tonight. He has very high end offensive instincts and looked like an NHL player tonight.

It was nice to see Sdao try and jump into the rush and contribute more offensively. I look forward to see how he progresses in Binghamton this season. He should be considered for a few call ups.

Lehner was also fantastic, we have a real gem on our hands with him.

Dziurzynski looked horrible tonight; he panicked with the puck and couldn't put together any worthwhile passes or shots. He needs a lot more seasoning in the AHL and doesn't look like he will ever stick with the Sens.

Aside from a few good shifts, the 4th line of Cowick-O'brien-Robinson was pretty bad overall. They got stuck in their own zone many times throughout the game and were weak defensively. O'Brien needs to be put on waivers or traded. Cowick, much like Dziurznksi doesn't look like he will ever stick with the Sens. He could be a decent call up for a few games but neither will ever be full time Senators. Robinson getting his first exposure as a pro, so there aren't any worries there.

Petersson was fairly effective in the offensive zone but his lack of size/strength is pretty evident.

Corvo had a few horrible turnovers reminiscent of the "uh Oh Corvo" era. His break out passes are nice, but Ceci could make him expendable at some point this season.

I thought Neil, Smith and greening all had solid games. They all handled the puck well, made solid passes and provided a prominent physical presence. Neil had a massive hit right before Greening's goal and a few more pretty big ones.

It was nice to see Greening as an effective offensive player. He has been labelled as an "offensive black hole" around here, but he was able to handle the puck and pass well while keeping up with his offensively talented linemates in Da Costa and Petersson.

Da Costa had another solid game. It would be nice to find a roster spot for him, but at this point there really isn't any room.

If you can trade him, that's a different story, but with injuries inevitably coming, why not keep the asset in the organization? Pageau is a 2nd year pro and isn't going to suffer from more AHL time. Start him in the minors and give him the call-up when the time comes.

Strong games from Greening, Smith, O'Brien (for real!), Wiercioch, Cowick and Borowiecki.

This right here.

You simply cannot go on and on as an organization and say the best players will play then make moves like that. We are in the business of winning now. We're not going to keep guys off the roster who will help us win in favour of maybe recouping a 5th or 6th round pick later. If he's waived and claimed, so be it. We have plenty of center depth besides SDC even if we run into injuries. This shouldn't even play into the decision.
