Leblanc Thread (Update-Q Rights traded to M.Junior)

Jimmy Murphy seems to think so: http://twitter.com/MurphysLaw74?utm_...5145173&ref=nf

"Source told me today that Habs prospect Louis Leblanc, now represented by Pat Brisson, will leave Harvard and play in Hamilton (AHL) 2010-11"

If Jimmy said it it must be true

If this is clearly the case, I'm looking forward to watching him develop

Someone ask James Murphy to revisit his many comments about how this year's Habs are the NHL's "laughing stock".

Really don't think this is a great decision. He needs more work.

Probably the right choice for the development of his NHL career, once you get into Harvard you can always go back when your older.

Here's to hoping he can have a "Subban-effect" down in Hamilton next season, lord knows we need a decent size body with size down the middle, not to mention a righty.

If Guy Boucher is still the coach next year in Hamilton, I can't think of someone better to ease him into this position and flourish down the road.

I don't want to go too far off-topic, so maybe someone can answer this quickly? What's going on with Kristo for next year? He staying in college or going to the AHL as well?

I agree, I think this might be a bit too premature a departure. Not saying Harvard was the best place for him to develop, but still, I hope this doesn't turn out like Max Pac v.2

This may be true, but I'm surprised the deal would be done before the prospect camp next week, since Leblanc is supposed to be there.

I do too, I never liked the pick from the beginning. If he pans out I will gladly eat some grow, but I think picking Louis was a huge mistake.

If he leaves early I think the Habs will have him play in the Q so he can dominate and get some confidence, being on the 4th line in Hamilton getting limited minutes will hinder him.

He will develop better in the NCAA?

The reason I prefer the CHL route is because the players have a longer season with 68 games plus playoffs. College is less games. The CHL is closer the the "pro experience" for work load

The AHL has a longer schedule as well and matches the pro experience. We also seem to have a pretty good developmental coach there

It's too bad the kid did not opt for playing in the Q if he is ditching college this early. The CHL is the best development program there is

Some NCAA fans will have to wake up a bit. He played 31 games last season!!! 31!! That's no where close enough to have a good development cycle regardless of the work you might do in a gym. If he leaves for the AHL and actually makes the team then that's the best news we'll have at the beginning of the next season.

If he leaves, its for the CHL I hope, not for the AHL. Not saying he's not ready, just why rush? Plek/Gomez and wtv will be under contract for a while.

I'm going to wait until after next week's prospect camp before giving an opinion on this.
