I'm not that mad about Georgetown, sure I had them going to the Elite 8, but essentially every single person had them going to at least the Sweet 16 in the $$ pools I'm in. 10/11 in our pool, it's whatever.

I had Georgetown losing to Tennessee, but I also had Notre Dame in the Sweet 16 and Vandy in the Final Four.

So I have no idea if I have Texas or Wake Forest in my money pool. I turned it in on Monday when I think I originally had Wake winning but I switched it to Texas at some point. I just don't remember if it was on Monday or not and I never photo-copied the bracket.

I made the same mistake last year. Didn't make the mistake this year. I think Texas will show up for one game and play to their talent, and then suck against Kentucky.

Much like a PGA event, you don't win on the first day. This coming from someone who crapped the bed on day 1.

Gotta love a 12 seed shooting almost 70% from the field in the first half.

I thought Temple was supposed to be a good team. Has everyone been lying to me all this time?

Cornell is shooting 68% from the field. Temple has 8 unforced turnovers, season average 10.4.

Its a combination of Cornell playing way above their head and Temple scared of the big spotlight.

I'm not sure why you would say Temple is scared of the big spotlight. Aside from getting blown out by Kansas, they played well against top 25 teams this season.

Cornell is one of the best 12 seeds I have even seen though.

Temple is shooting 59% and is down by 15.

Whats discouraging is the fact that Temple should not even be in this seed.

57% from the field and losing by 15. Ya, Cornell is a 12 seed for sure.

And neither should Cornell. This was just the NCAA putting the story of Dunphy against his former assistant.

My lord, are there enough commercials this half?

I agree with all of your assesments. Only chance is Cornell's luck from 3 running out and Temple driving the net hard and drawing some fouls and 3 point plays.

edit: full court press, better be on from now on.

So bump them up 4 spots and they're still an 8 seed that Temple should beat, right? Yeah, Cornell shooting the lights out, but Temple isn't playing like the team people hyped them up to be.

so this is by my count 5 double digit seeds that advance into the next round.

I can see Cornell going to the sweet 16.

For the tournaments to come i'd much rather Temple be the underdog unless they are a 3+ seed. Its just too ****ing demoralizing to see them get upset.

Here I agree with you. Regardless it's a game Temple, on paper, should have won. I'm just annoyed that the selection committee gave Cornell a 12 seed when they are clearly much better than that.

Temple didn't play a horrible game, but after the season they had beating some quality opponents, losing in the first round is a disappointment. That said this is Dunphy's first class of his recruits. The future should be bright for this team and Temple had a very quality showing between their football and basketball programs this season.

the Ivy league has never gotten any respect from the selection committe. Remember Princeton back in the day never getting a decent seed and they were always a tough out for ever they had to play.
