UPDATE

The Montreal Canadiens are proud to announce the signing of UFA forward Colby Armstrong to a three years contract. The deal will pay him 2.75M$ the first two years and 3M$ the final year of the contract.

Armstrong will bring size and grit to an already impressive bottom lines forwards group. He will join Tuomo Ruutu, Steve Ott, Evgeni Artyukhin and James Sheppard. Teams will no longer be able to take advantage from us in the physical aspect of the game. We also like the fact that the players we have acquired since the trade deadline are not only physical, but they also have a solid hockey game. Armstrong is scheduled to start the season on the third line with Saku Koivu and Tuomo Ruutu.

With this signing we are officially done for the offseason. Mathieu Carle will start the year in Hamilton but we will bring him back when there will be injuries since we can’t afford to sign a depth defenseman.

Definitely down for a 7th. I had fun as Dallas. Total overhaul of the team. 3 solid scoring lines, deep team defense, and a very bright future with Glennie, Schroeder, Neideretter, Howden and Larsen.

The Nashville Predators announced today that the club has signed two-time Stanley Cup winner Ruslan Fedotenko to a 1 year contract worth $1.5M. Fedotenko will play on our 3rd line, alongside Cal O'Reilly and Joel Ward.

With that signing, we now have our final roster:

Martin Erat - Jason Arnott - Steve Sullivan
Alexei Ponikarovsky - Colin Wilson - Patric Hornqvist
Ruslan Fedotenko - Cal O'Reilly - Joel Ward
Travis Moen - Marcel Goc - Jordin Tootoo

Extra: Jerred Smithson

Shea Weber - Roman Polak
Ryan Suter - Dennis Seidenberg
Shaone Morrisonn - Jaroslav Spacek

Pekka Rinne
Mike Brodeur

Our offseason started with the draft. We added the likes of Kirill Kabanov (who'll look deadly down the line alongside fellow Russian Alexander Radulov), Danny Biega and Stephan Silas to an already strong prospect pool. We are very happy with they way free agency went for our club, adding the likes of Alexei Ponikarovsky, Ruslan Fedotenko, Dennis Seidenberg and Mike Brodeur. We feel that we have successfully managed to build a strong team here in Nashville, and we feel that we have a legitimate shot at going deep into next years playoffs.

What did you do with Travis Moen? He wasn't in your playoffs roster and now he isn't in your roster for the 2010-2011 season.

After losing out on a few free agents the Oilers are done for the season, with exception to one very minor signing.

The Oilers would like to thank IR4, RR, Bingo, Andre79, T_Cage, CD, Billyshoe, MattTrick and everyone else who puts a lot of time and effort into running these games for us. Thanks boys, hopefully see you all at game # 7

still awaiting the decision on one free agent before completing our roster.

I am really stoked on my Neal-Filpulla-Raymond 2nd line think it could cause some real problems for teams.

roster:

Morrow-Thornton-Heatley
Marleau-Pavelski-St. Louis
Chimera-Malhorta-Park
Ortmeyer-Nichol-Ferrerio

Boyle-Lydman
White-Ranger
Blake-Demers
Staubitz

Nabby
Greiss

Total: 56.9 million.

I think this the best team I have ever built. The Sharks boast 5 elite forwards in Marleau, Thornton, Heatley, Morrow, and St. Louis. The 6th member of the top 6 is Joe Pavelski, an exceptional two-way talent and one of the league's best second line centers. Also, of the Sharks top 6, only Heatley is average defensively, while the others are good (Thornton, Morrow) to exceptional (Marleau, St. Louis, and Pavelski). In addition to what we believe is clearly the best top 6 in the league, San Jose boasts a fast and effective third line in Manny Malhorta, Jason Chimera, and Richard Park. The former two built plenty of chemistry in their time in Columbus. The fourth line is also filled with fast, gritty players in Nichol, Ortmeyer, and Ferrerio. We are pleased to bring the three of them back, and look from contributions from McGinn, Zalewski, Couture, and McLaren.

In addition to an elite forward core, we believe we boast one of the best defensive cores in the league. Dan Boyle is a top 5 d-man, and Blake, Ranger, White, and Lydman are comfortable in top 4 roles. Add in a hot shot youngster like Demers and you have a dymanic and mobile defensive core, who are also solid in their own end. We feel they perfectly compliment our fast forwards in that all have the ability to make the first pass effectively (except Lydman, but Boyle is a one man breakout).

In addition to positional improvements at both defense and forward, we brought in guys that we felt fit our needs. Morrow and St. Louis are some of the best forwards in the league and both have had huge postseasons in the past. White, Chimera, Park and Tallinder are gamers. In addition to an increased effort and more veteran group, San Jose is back to being one of the fastest teams in the league, as only Pavelski, Thornton, Heatley, Tallinder and Blake are considered average, the rest range from fast to lightning.

And in a Vezina caliber goalie and a solid back-up and you have what we see as an odds-on-favorite for the cup right now.

That is the same way I feel about Marleau-Pavelski-St. Louis. Or would you say Morrow-Thornton-Heatley is my second line? I am not really sure.

Coyotes Sign Rene Bourque

PHOENIX COYOTES have come to terms with UFA forward Rene Bourque.

Bourque inked a 4-year deal that will pay him $3.75M per season. The deal also includes a limited no-trade clause.

Are you sure you can smell it?

Because if you can, I can't see why GM Game Legend IR4 wouldn't smell it too?

Joking aside, see you in GM Game 7 guys. Those games are always really fun to play. We now have a biggest amount of active GMs which makes the game a lot more realistic.

I like to leave a little gap between the end of a game and the sign up thread of the next one, because everyone gets excited and impatient, which in turn leads to more people signing up.

79 AM - I just realized you quoted yourself. Classic stuff there.

So next game will simply skip the trade deadline??? It would be cool to do something like

Offseason
Rank the teams after off season,
Trade Deadline
Re-Ranking.

It would only work with active GMs but we do have alot.

That sorta seems too much with a trade deadline and all

I would say

draft
Free agency
re-ranking (We never really judge the moves made and the completed teams,,, we should)

Without final word from the players agent, the would like to announce the signing of center Olli Jokinen to a 4-year $3.5 million dollar per year deal. He will be our 2nd line center on a line with TJ Oshie and Jason Pominville. We are excited to bring him into our fold at such a bargain price!

Hey guys, unfortunately (well not really) I will be unable to participate in #7. It is spring break, and I am off to Krakow, Prague, Vienna, and Brataslava.
