Zednik Koivu Kovalev (hopefully re-signed)
Ryder Hossa Plekanec
Bulis Higgins Perezoghin
Begin Dowd (if re-signed) Ward
Langdon

Souray Komiserek
Markov Rivet
Hainsey Brisebois
Bouillon Beauchemin

I would trade Ribeiro and / or Brisebois for Physical type defenceman that can throw the gloves and a imposing centre.

Theodore / Garon

Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev
Hossa - Ribeiro - Ryder
Bulis - Plekanec - Ward
Begin - Higgins - Dowd

Souray - Komisarek
Markov - Brisebois
Hainsey - Rivet

Langdon, Dwyer, Bouillon

I would let Perezhogin develop at least an other half a year in the A to gain even more confidence and help Kastsitsyn aclimate to the NA game and culture.

I would also sign Kovalev, Langdon and Dowd to new contracts. Maybe Ian Laperriere too if he's interested. You never have too much toughness.

Ryder - Koivu - Kovalev (if we get him cheap, otherwise he's a floater)
Zednik - Ribeiro - ROOKIE
Bulis - Higgins - Ward
Begin - Dowd - Hossa

We have to get Hossa into the lineup and let Julien bring him along and pop him onto a scoring line when he's doing well. The 2nd line and 4th line right wing spots should be filled by kids, we're rebuilding!

Markov - Rivet
Souray - Brisebois
Hainsey - Komisarek
Bouillon

Theodore
Garon

I would hope that Bob can find us some more players, especially some D. We badly need a top 4 defenseman, even if Komisarek is ready next year for the #4 slot.

Don't forget that Kovalev is a UFA, and he has shown a desire to test free agency.

Here's my starting line-up for game 1 of the 2004-2005 season.

Perezhogin - Koivu - Kovalev
Zednik - Ribeiro - Ryder
Bulis - Dowd - Higgins
?* - Begin - Ward

Markov - Rivet
Souray - Komisarek
Brisebois - Bouillon
Valabik (I hope we draft him!)

* Probably a free-agent signing, a good, Langdon type. But it won't be Langdon - we won't resign him.

Zednik Koivu Kovalev

Hossa Plekanec Perezhogin (ya, ya....)

Higgins Laperriere Ryder

Begin Dowd Ward

Extra: Dwyer, Bulis and Ribeiro (ya, ya...)

Souray/Komisarek

Markov/Rivet

Bouillon/Brisebois (Bouillon has a one way, I would prefer Beauchemin)

Extra: Hainsey (you can't risk to lose him for nothing)

Théo
Garon

Edit: I think I would rather go for Primeau instead Kovalev... Kovalev played great for us in playoffs but I dont think this is the type of player a coatch is very pleased with... Kovalev has probably beaten the reccord of the longer shifts on the ice in the playoffs, he sure did very well but its not working with CJ phylosophy IMO... A guy like Primeau would fit better in the line-up bringing a great work ethic, size, physical play, leadership... We will have some highly skilled kids in the line-up next season, particulaty Perezhogin and I think it could compensate for a Kovalev lost!

So here is my new line-up:

Higgins Koivu Zednik

Hossa Plekanec Perezhogin

Bulis Primeau Ryder

Begin Laperriere Ward

Lappy is strictly 4th line material isn't he? I would love to have him here, no question.

Klee would be good too.

And PRIMEAU

I like our defensemans, this is our force, I would let the cube, Beauchemin and Hainsey fight for 6th and 7th spot.. Yes Primeau would be sweet for sure but I don't think we will have enough money if we resign Kovy.. (Brisebois, Théo, Koivu, Rivet, Kovy... alot money spent)

I'd like to see the other UFAs cut loose, Ribeiro dealt, and fill in the extras with waiver pickups or FAs.

Of course, no clue who will be coming or going before next season!

1st Line
Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev
This line can't be broken. Look for Koivu to finish as one of the top ten scorers next year. (there won't be a lockout)

2nd Line
Hossa - Ribeiro - Ryder
Ribeiro really has to take this offseason seriously and workout. He needs to gain size and work on his balance and skating. This is a very crucial year for him, he really could be something special. Ryder 30+ goal year. Hossa will click with this line i think.

3rd Line
Bulis - Higgins - Perezhogin
I'd like to see this line as a defensive line with scoring abilities. Try and run a system similar to Ottawa. (Maybe even sign Jaques Martin??) and if Hossa doesn't seem to click with the 2nd line, try and get Perezhogin to do so. I'm looking for him to be a Calder trophy candidate next year.

4th Line
Ward - Dowd - Begin
This will be an emotion line, to get the guys pumped up. For more physical games Langdon should be inserted. (We need Langdon for his fighting presence and his relationship with Ryder...Newfy's)
I would also like to see Kastitsyn get some playing time, who knows what will happen.

If there are any injuries or cold players Plekanec can fill the void. Other than that we have to many floaters on our roster that we need to get rid of.

D
Markov - Rivet (Or hopefully a signed or traded D-Man)
Souray - Komisarek (They will have an awesome year together)
Brisebois - Hainsey (Hainsey is the future quarterback of the D
Bouillon will be next in line if anyone isn't playing good and Julien shouldn't hesitate to put him in...Beauchemin deserves a couple of chances too.

Les Gardiens
Theodore (No questions asked Theo is #1)
Garon (for garon's sake i would like to see him get traded.. he deserves to be a #1 goalie somewhere...i still love the guy tho)
Danis
Damphousse

Okay I know i posted this in another thread, but don't jump on me. I just want you guys to know what i think of Hossa having seen at lot of him this year and last at the AHL level.

Hossa is not our top prospect at the AHL level. I have been to many Bulldogs games this year, and follow the team closely. He has been a dissapointment at best. He seems to not get into the corners or go to the front of the net, or work hard in the defensive end. He is a classic floater.

At Bulldogs Games they give out an award in addition to the Three Stars called
HARDEST WORKING BULLDOG OF THE GAME:

Lets just say its a joke between me and my friends everytime that award is announced. Damn I'm surprised Hossa didn't get it. That said, he looked good in the first Bulldogs Playoff game, but one game doesn't a player make.

Perezhogin, Higgins, and Plekanic all deserve shots before Hossa.

Adendum: Hossa was first star tonight in game 4 of the Bulldogs Cleveland series. Got a gwg and an assist. So that is now two good playoff games.

I don't think he's ready for the big club next year as many of you think.

You sure you all want Ribeiro? He looks as though he's 70 games and fini. He finished the season badly and stank in the playoffs except for one game. And even in that one game he stopped playing after he scored his two goals. His 10 minute misconduct penalty in game 3 really hurt.

The experience of this season will help in his future development. As many people have said though he needs to bulk up this offseason and add at least 10-15 pounds. This will help him take the pounding of a long season and he will last longer.

I think Hossa's work ethic is underrated by the simple fact that he is playing on a line with 2 terrific speedy hard workers... He is maybe not as involved in the game as you would wish to, maybe not as energic as Higgins, Pleks, Perezhogin, Gratton.. but I think he does several things very well most of the time... especially along the board and positionnally.. He creates alot space on the ice for his linemates... You would certainly expect more fire in his game but it only show the high work ethic prevaling in the whole farm... Personnally I think Hossa can bring more to the table than a guy like Jan Bulis for example!
