Yea that was weird. It's disappointing as hell to lose like that. My guess is just like yours, he was probably just upset and wanted to skate right to the dressing room. His wife/gf is due to give birth anyday now, so maybe emotions are just naturally running high anyway.

Fortunately the schedule down the stretch favors the Kings. Phoenix has to play 9 of their next 11 games on the road and 3 back-to-backs this month.

Yeah, can't really blame the Canucks. Didn't know about Phoenix's schedule. It looks good for us.

There is a lot more going on in this game than just the moment of impact plays.
There is no way they could have expected Ritchie to screw the pooch like that. Besides, TM has insinuated the JJ and DD have the greenlight on 4 on 4 to run if they feel necessary. Jones is just ****ing retarded every damn night.

BTW... Jones was a -3 tonight. No one should find that shocking.

This better be the end of the Jones getting 13 minutes of ice time a night experiment. It's about 7 minutes too many. Drewiske or Harrold never looked like as much of a liability defensively as he looks regularly.

He's been in the doghouse for a while now. There's no word of an injury, so who knows.

It takes effort to suck like that. That kind of sucking doesn't just happen. You have to try to suck for that ****.

Prob. But Ersberg should start. That would be a straight slap in the face to him if Bernier got the start.

I'd rather Bernier play, EE can go to ikea and cut himself if he feels betrayed.

Jones is an idiot and JJ didn't have his best game but he wasn't bad. Miscommunication all the way around on that last play. Only one defenseman should have rushed, but Richie also had the red line and made a dumb decision to pull up and not get it deep, especially with people rushing.

The system is always get it deep. The game was a high intensity take advantage type game. North South hockey had been the name of the game all night and Richie should have known that. Get it deep, go after it when you don't have control through the neutral zone.

Great game though. I smell a 2nd round 7 game series.

As I posted in the game day thread, the Kings have ways to go to compete with the high-powered offense and speed of teams like the Blackhawks. To combat them, they have to outmatch them physically and dictate the game along the boards and not give them any space in the middle of the ice.

The biggest difference between the two teams is talent. The Blackhawks have the deepest roster in the league. From line 1 through d-pair 3. They are stacked.

What the Kings lack in talent they have to make up in effort. That effort is the driving force behind the vast majority the Kings victories this year. Tonight, the Blackhawks matched the Kings effort and their depth proved too much for the Kings.

Dean Lombardi needs to add talent on the blueline and at forward if he ever expects the Kings to get passed the Blackhawks in a 7 game series.

We skated with this team tonight and outside of that 5 on 3 the shots and chances were pretty even. We can beat them in a seven round series.

If Jones gets a hair over 6-7 minutes of icetime in the playoffs, we're ****ed. This guy is worse than Gauthier.

phoenix and colorado are one hit wonders, they'll make the playoffs this year but not next year, does that remind you of any 2 teams from last year? Oh ya, Columbus and St. Louis

Columbus=Colorado

Steve Mason was great last year, one of the main reasons they made the playoffs, I can say the same thing about Craig Anderson.

Phoenix and Colorado '09-10 = Columbus and St. Louis '08-'09

Can the same be said of the Kings? Why or why not?
