tell you, I don't like the way Pittsburgh tends to be static positionally or formation wise on the PP. We had some good possession in that game but sometimes I feel that a large part of the blame falls to Mike Yeo. I don't see page 2 in Mike Yeo's PP formation and tactics. sorry if I'm just ignorant. We have the skill to make the PP better, but relying so much on Gonchar's passing/shots from the point just seems predictable while the guys down low don't deviate enough.

Why are you trolling on the team? We outplayed the Canes... badly. That Peters kid was absolutely amazing. It wasn't that we couldn't finish, it was that he was on fire.
I disagree. Now many posts tonight? Three I believe. The Pens had Peters beat numerous times and couldn't finish plain and simple.

Add that to the fact that the D was bad tonight and Johnson looked like swiss cheese.

Same thing happened with the Pens last year against the Caps in Games 1 and 2. Pens had Varly beat time and again and couldn't finish. Sometimes I think that the Pens overthink plays too much. They worry about making the perfect pass instead of just bombing it and crashing the net. They were doing that since the break but this game they went back to the "finesse" play again.

Uhh, results aside that was one of the most complete games the Pens have played all season. If you really think that was a poor showing your judgement is laughable.

The Pens had no business losing that one; could have (should have) been 5-1 Pens.

that was a good question on the post-game show: 'why wasn't Dupuis sused on the top line again when the Penguins seemed to be doing well with him up there?"

Goligoski-Leopold was by far our best tandem tonight. Probably a good reason why we lost.

The second line needs to be split up A S A P. They're now officially our third-best unit. Sad.

You know you have depth when your 3rd line is better then your 2nd, and arguably better then your 1st line. 3rd line has been consistent minus a few games all season, and previous season. I'd say they are our best line followed by the Crosby, then Malkin line. That is depth.

Complete game.

Yes, I will laugh off all the give aways, turn overs, and countless running around with the puck to end up in turning it over, which I'm sure will match right along with their shot total. You can have a high shot number and still play bad.

If you think the Pens dominated this game, you're kidding yourself.

Oh but the Pens DID dominate this game. Maybe not like the Rangers game, but we took them to skool.

Shots don't tell the whole story of any game but if you outshoot your opponent 40-21 you're getting close to the "impossible" category as far as being able to have played a "bad" game.

There weren't all that many turnovers, actually, and yes Carolina did get outplayed pretty badly, both in scoring chances and territorially. I really don't know what game you were watching, but considering almost everybody unanimously agrees that the Pens played really well - you're probably wrong.

I mean, it's one thing to say that we didn't dominate but you flat out said they played poorly. You have no idea how to evaluate a hockey game, period.

Had no idea who this Peters kid was going into the game. Should have known he'd have a career night against the Pens. Seems to happen all the time.

Oh well, we got a point. Sucks that we lost having thrown so much rubber at the net, but whatever.

I think we were definitely somewhere between dominant and poor tonight.

We could call it a "sterile dominance".
