He's gassed. I read somewhere on these boards that him and Gilroy were smoked midseason, not to mention the injury

Never expect too much out of a rookie. No matter who they are it's best to temper your expectations.

Hmm...

You expected big things from a 19 year old rookie that plays on a team that has been struggling basically all season long? DZ has been fine, sure he has had his own struggles too... but again, he's a ROOKIE.

You guys are right, I'm being impatient with MDZ. I guess I'm just seeing what Doughty is doing this year and that's what I hope Del Zotto will be in the near future. Doughty was the 2nd overall pick though and Del Zotto was 20th, I think.

Del Zotto will become better as the years go by, and love that we have two guys in Staal and MDZ who were Rangers first rounders that look like they will work out.

Well, DZ has already passed Doughty's rookie point totals, so maybe we're about to see something special as the years roll by.

Del Zotto is going to be something really special. You already see his offensive ability he will get much better in the defensive end and become a very good two way defensemen. He also trys to play physical and hit people which is a great sign.

I'm sure he is pretty worn out though. He is a 19 year old defensemen averaging over 19 minutes per game.

I don't think Del Zotto will ever be as good as Doughty, but he is beating his rookie totals right now if that means anything

Four goals is great, and maybe it's the crappy Atlanta announcers, but this game is lulling me to sleep.
