Vancouver/ Detroit

I was reading today that Detroit might be one of the teams looking to add goal-tending depth to there team in the off season I know Howard has been pretty good but does a Cory Schneider for a Jakub Kindle sound fair.Canucks get a prospect D-man they covet and Detroit gets a high-end goal-tending prospect if its true they are looking for depth.

don't see it. we have high-end goalie prospects in our system. no need to trade Kindl for another one. I'd bet Holland is simply talking about signing a veteran (an Osgood-type signing)

I think what you read is maybe they'd like a veteran backup to play behind Howard since Osgood fell off the map. Goalie prospects the Wings do have. Said vet backup would be worth a lower pick or less touted prospect. 5th or 6th ish.

Schneider is too much on the radar for Holland to pick him up.

McCollum and Larsson say hi.
IMO, if Detroit wanted goaltending help, it would be more veteran insurance, not a prospect.

Schnieder will play in Vancouver next year. He will get two years ay back-up, then challenge for the starting position in his third year. As soon as he is displaced Luongo will demand a trade. All good.

Schneider is most likely going to chicago, philly or maybe even new jersey (brodeur wont be playing forever)

No way Detroit trades Kindle. With Lidstrom getting old Kindle is the best thing Detroit has coming up.

Now why the hell would we want to add depth to our goaltending?

Howard
Osgood
Larsson
McCollum

Next time, please use common sense.

Thanks. Oh yea.. Its Kindl btw.. No "e"

In fairness compare Larsson and McCollum's stats this year to Schneider. Its not a perfect trade for us but I would say Schneider at least gets a raised eyebrow.

Please God no. If Schneider ever panned out they'd become unbeatable.

Better question is why would the Canucks do that?McCollum has no value to the Canucks, and Kindl isn't worth Schneider+2 nd(Which the canucks don't have)

People should also respect the fear Vancouver fans have of trading Schneider to a direct rival.

Beyond the stats, he's truly had his moments in the limited action he's had up in the big leagues.

Holland has come out and said he doesn't think you need an elite goalie to win so I see Detroit going after someone like Ellis who can play really well at times but won't cost the same as a top tier guy

I see Schneider going to Philly in a deal involving Coburn or Parent.
