Tom Petty's playing in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto.. but no Montreal.

Other bands constantly skip our lovely city.

It's a huge place with a ton of fans. So... what's up with that?

Did you see that the National play back to back shows in Toronto in June, but aren't coming here?

You can blame the current Montreal promoters on that, they're probably being cheap. When Donald K Donald was doing that job years ago, Montreal was the #1 stop in Canada for all concerts. Having a good promoter in your City is like having a good GM.

You sound like a millionaire complaining about rising chauffer wages. Try living in a city like North Bay or something and gain some perspective.

If you're serious, I'd consider it. Sadly, I wouldn't know my work schedule into two weeks in advance. We'll talk on MSN some day.

Maybe for metal bands, but I couldn't care less about that.

Try living in the Maritimes buddy, it is only recently that we began to get some bigger names.

My sister lives in TO now, too... hmm...

I doubt I could get the days off in June though. I just started here last week, and don't really have any seniority, heh.

I thought I heard that The Who won't come to Montreal because of some incident.

Wow fitting thread. My buddies are headed up to NY in April to see High on Fire, Priestess, Black Cobra and Bison BC.

Bison BC is Canadian, I discovered them about a year ago accidentally and man, what a great Canadian heavy band.

Priestess is from Montreal and one of the hottest bands on the scene in that genre right now.

High on Fire just released Snakes for the Divine which is a must for any metal/heavy rock fan in my book.

And guess what....

No Montreal dates on the tour. WTF???

Actually, EVERY band skips Ottawa on their tour!

Which explains why I'm off for Him and Eluveitie/Amon Amarth.
