Hurricanes sold to Brampton businessman.

Today the league made a surprise announcement, when they announced that the Carolina Hurricanes had been sold to Brampton businessman Jon Lemoine. Lemoine 28 years old has previously owned other franchises in other leagues, but it has been a goal of his for some time to join the HFNHL what is widely considered the best league in the world.

"I want to bring a cup to Carolina. That is the goal for this franchise moving forward. Anything less than that should be considered a disappointment" said Lemoine.

Also the new owner has stated that changes are going to come quickly for the Hurricanes as he tries to mold the team into the type of team he likes.

"the bottom line is the team is losing money, the on ice product it bad and things need to change quickly here" commented Lemoine

One thing is for certain the new ownership will not tolerate losing for very long and we can certainly expect changes to come at a fast and furious rate as the new sheriff in town tries to get things heading in a new direction as the deadline approaches.

Calgary (CP): You'd think that a bitter 3 game losing streak would be the thing that was shaking up the Flames today - but instead its the news that Assistant GM Jon Lemoine has left the front office of the Flames to take over the Carolina Hurricanes. "We knew that Jon was talented, and that he was perhaps one of the brightest hockey minds not in the HFNHL, which is why we brought him in in the first place" commented GM Matthew Kershaw at a press conference to announce the loss. "But, we knew that Jon had the ability to turn his Bread Twist Tie Manufacturing fortune into franchise ownership, however we didn't expect it to happen until the off-season."

The GM also expressed surprise and disappointment at the sale of the franchise by long time HFNHL GM Dion Ong. The Flames were quick to send their regards and noted that Dion will be missed.

Welcome aboard Jon.

Could you provide some contact information, in case someone wants to email you about...say...Alex Ovechkin

Also, best regards to Dion. Long standing HFNHL member, he will be missed upon his resignation.

Bah. Dion stuck around long enough to send Buffalo a sweetheart of a deal (which was supposed to be *my* sweetheart deal - damn you, Josh!). Bah, I say. Also, humbug. Still, Dion's quirky style and humour will be missed, but not his schizophrenic management style.

Anyway, welcome to the league as a GM, Jon. Fortunately Matthew didn't have you around long enough to become dependent on you (we hope), although I'm sure it still stings to have you move on. Hopefully you can use your inside knowledge to rip him on a couple of trades.

Once you've had a chance to assess things, let us know where you plan on taking the Canes, so we can all bombard you with trades that ostensibly are designed to help you with that process, but which really screw you and help us!

Good luck and all the best,

OJ

Welcome Jon and good luck

Your place of residence has solidified Brampton as the centre of the HFNHL universe as we now boast 4 GM's. We're going to have to move the GTA GM Meetings from Harbour Front Sports Bar and Grill to either the Hooters or Frigate and Firkin on Queen street

Well Zac I'm sure Kennedys might be a good place to celebrate your 19th. Of course if you know the right people or have a fake ID I'm sure you've been in places like this already.
