Did it HAVE to be on Monday? I already got warned for skipping too many classes lately... Wouldn't be good having a suspension in the record since I'm a senior.

Some predictions of what will be said:

1/ Koivu is indeed God,
2/ The Montreal canadiens announces the construction of a church to worship him,
3/ Kovalev will be elected "Pope" of the new religion guided by Koivu.
4/ Perezhogin will go on "penitence" for what he did on friday,
5/ "10 reasons why we should trade Koivu"'s post will be clearly visible in the middle of the locker room to remind the Pagants of their mistakes of the past...

Ok, I'm with the status quo. He does come up big in big games and it will be fun to see him against the Leafs and Bruins. Those are ALWAYS big games during the regular season.

Maybe he realizes that he can only get a similar buzz from winning the 94 Ranger Cup by playing in Montreal. That's the only way he can recapture that HIGH.

And he will.

(if he signs for 4 mil) (and that rhymes)

Glad you joined us.... almost

Only time will tell if it will be/would have been the good/bad move. let's be optimistic here, he only showed us good signs.

The Score maybe but I doubt TSN will show it unless Pat Quinn is scheduled to make a cameo.

I'm sure this incident is now going to be a part of the Habs press conferance too, let's hope it doesn't take away from what BG has wanted to address to the team and media.

Signing Kovalev would be a good move if he can be had on the cheap...if he busts then its not as big of a deal as if you are paying him 7 or 8 million a year like the Rangers did.

Now, his numbers at the time did warrant a contract like that, but he's probably looking at a pretty serious paycut now.

Too funny!!!! He will probably want to address the fact that his team isn't getting ALL the calls!

Here's what he will say:

We are here today to announce the retirement of Joey Juneau. Joey has served the team well and as of today will be retained by the organization in an as yet to be determined capacity.

I think he will be evasive on most subjects he will talk about as usual, especially on the Kovalev's one...

IMO He does'nt plan to make him an offer for the unique reason that Kovalev is'nt coatchable! I've nothing to say against him during the playoffs, he gave us a very good show but he was also undisciplined, was making freaking long shifts and its just not part of Julien's phylosophy! Kovalev himself said that he wants play his own game with a young team that will give him free hands... Kovalev would'nt play every game like he did in playoffs anyway, he will take some nights off as usual anywhere he will sign.. He is an inconsistent player that affect a whole team in a long run IMO, I personnally don'T want such mentor for our kids, I want a veteran leader that will respect the coatch phylosophy and what he ask him for!

It has been a high price to pay for a loaner... He sure gave us spectacular playoffs and helped Gillet to recover some money but... Balej.....

RDS is showing the news conference on the internet I think...check rds.ca

We've discussed the trade in depth for some time now, but Kovalev for Balej was a solid trade. If Kovalev doesn't come back, it will depend on whether Balej ever develops into a solid player..but I love the trade right now.

I do agree with you, but the jury is still out on Balej. I wouldn't resign Kovalev either and take the 2nd, Kovy did step up in the playoffs but as you said was still a bit selfish out there and was terrible in the games he played during the regular season. What if he reverts back to that Kovalev? I wouldn't mind BG looking elsewhere, but if Kovy signs for cheap enough... maybe.

He was terrible in part because he wasn't correctly used.
