Will Marleau score 50 goals?

Eh, why not...

I don't think he will.

Hes within range but the focus of the team better be on getting lines arranged. That means we will probably see some movement of pairs and Patty in particular will get time with Manny, Clowe, Pavs, Seto, and even Ortmeyer, McGinn and Mitchell. Either way it will be close, but I hope they keep their minds on the correct goal and even get him some rest in a very compact last 17 games.

Your poll options are not very balanced.

I think we had a similar thread to this last year, and the Marleau got hurt and was out for basically the rest of the season.

So what I'm saying is, if Marleau is injured, it's your fault David

He only needs a couple of multi-goal games and all of a sudden 5 in the remaining 13 or so doesn't look that taxing if he remains in form.

I think he will make it and set his PB points totals in doing so (and Heater is going to go past 40 too) but let's be honest, all of this is irrelevant if we don't win the Cup. After yesterday's capitulation, I'm not all that bothered by stats!

That said, you know what does surprise me? Not Patty's totals but Ryane Clowe's - for a guy that you'd get the impression has to be booted out the door asap by some people, he's quietly on for a career year in production too.

41 goals in 67 games is .61 goals per game, he needs 9 goals in 15 for 50 is .6 gpg.

that said i say he gets #50 in game 82 against the dogs in OT.

I'd be more impressed if he was on pace to break his goal scoring career high than his secondary assist career high.

I think that Patty will be right on the brink come season's end. I just don't want to jinx him

Don't be so quick to discount the secondary assist. It means that at least he is involved in the scoring, which is all we really need him to be doing.

I think he gets close but doesn't do it. 48 or 49, even. Still, nothing to frown upon. I'm damn proud of Patty and hope we find a way to keep him.

That being said, even though he's leading Heatley in goal scoring, there is something to be said about Heatley's "don't-give-a-f*&^" attitude that I think will probably help this team in the playoffs. we've been so far inside our own domes for the past few years, it's not even funny.

It's going to be close. A week ago he was on pace for 49. He is now on pace for 50.12 goals!
