But what a job by Nitty. The goaltenders kept this game so damn close.

That was a tough one..

I dislike Penguins more than Thrashers and Caps together x.x

**** I hate them. I hope the Devils kick their ***** for the 6th time this season.

Niitty stood on his head and this game can in no way be pinned on him. Tough to swallow this one, but when you get your first shots on goal in the period in the last 5 minutes of the game...there's something wrong.

It's still not over, boys. Gotta keep it going.

Decent game, pretty chippy imo. Kinda wanted to see Sid and Stammer put on a show though.

Seriously....why are all these fans showing up NOW? Are they giving out free tickets somewhere or are paid fans really showing up after the OK Corral burned down?

The thread in the main board is hillarious, we should all have Downie's avatar just to piss them off.

Nice to see Vinny score, now we just need everyone to start doing their jobs.

No more false hope...this may have been a season ender.

Also, I love the tears being cried around this place today.

How? We just beat the Caps and played the Pens very hard. Those are the #1 and #2 teams in the east and Niity played great against both of them. Boston only has 4 points on us and with Niitty getting hot again there is still hope.

68 pts with 14 games remaining.
History suggests we'll need 20+ more pts to squeak in.

Florida x3
Buffalo and Carolina x2 ea.
Washington, Pittsburgh, Boston, Ottawa, NYR, Columbus and Phoenix once ea.

It will take a hot streak of consistency not yet seen from this team this year to squeeze 20 or more points out of that schedule. I hope they can do it, and damn we'd be roaring into the playoffs on a tear if we could...but, it doesn't seem very likely.

Next step? Coyotes...Lets go Lightning!! !!!

TAMPA — C Steven Stamkos figured Penguins D Brooks Orpik would use his stick to try to block Stamkos' shot. But Orpik "finished his check," as Stamkos put it, and Stamkos slammed into the boards.

The result: a bruised back that had Stamkos walking stiffly after the game. It is unclear if he will play Tuesday against the Coyotes.

"It's going to take something pretty substantial," Stamkos said when asked if he might sit out. "I'm going to battle through it, and, hopefully, it feels better. I'm 99 percent positive I'm going to play."
Quote:
While the official report is LW Marty St. Louis has bumps and bruises, coach Rick Tocchet said St. Louis, like Stamkos, was "banged up pretty bad."
