Alright. It seems pretty obvious that Elliott is going to be our #1. Which means LeClaire will most likely never get the chance to get into any sort of rythym. I was wondering if any teams could use a goaltender who has supposed potential, and has the cap space to fit him.

He's a good goalie imo. He got hung out to dry last game against the Canucks but looked pretty darn solid.

I'd have to think the Oilers would be interested if he were on the market.

Hmm, in that case, what're you offering up? (P.S. Anything involving Horcoff is a non-starter).

If Ott can trade Leclaire without taking another bad contract back I'll be surprised.

Unfortunately Leclaire will be buried in a backup position. His constant injuries to the extent people are apprehensive to breathe on him have decimated any possibility he could be a starter, in addition Elliott further crushed the potential he possessed with Ottawa. He may have an opportunity once his contract is up however I doubt he will be a starter in the NHL. Teams would be better advised overpaying via offersheet for Halak.

Why make this thread now? The defense was awful in the last game. Leclaire played a solid game and kept us in it until the powerplays started...for us.

He was also amazing against Toronto. He gets injured a lot but I'd keep him. He's up after next season, anyways.

I think he's referring to Antoine Vermette, the guy the Sens traded for Leclaire.

Thank you.

It sucks for Ottawa trying to trade him, the goalie market this off-season is good for a team looking for one. I doubt he has much value, at least not what they gave up to acquire him.

Flyers would want him.

Whats the cost?

Carle + Boucher for Leclaire + rights to Campoli

3 injuries this year:

Concussion from getting a puck to the head
Broken cheekbone from puck to face
Twisted ankle from stepping on a puck with skates on in practice.

Freak injuries really

Pros:
He is a good puck moving D man, good on the PP, and good positioning. Great pincher

Cons
Speed isnt the best for a puck mover. Not physical, and weak

Would be a good guy to pair with Phillips(assuming Anton leaves)

Karlsson-Kuba
Phillips-Carle
Carkner-Sutton/Lee

Do not want.

Freak injuries or not, he's been injured as much as he's played so far in his career. The most games he's played in any one season is 54, and the second most games he's played in any one season is 33.

Maybe its all just some random case of bad luck, but I'd let some other team inherit that risk.

That is great and all...but it really has nothing to do with anything related to Leclaire and Vermette. You must have made up in your own mind that I was bashing Leclaire or something.
