We've seen this team collapse so many times, seeing it happen again really shouldn't be much of a surprise.
The big thing is that this is the first time that "this team" has ever been in this position. Only Frolov and Brown were on the ice for that 2006 team and Brownie was splitting 3rd/4th line minutes.

Half of "this team" has had success this time of year playing in a different city and the other half is probably dying to show that they have what it takes to succeed at this level.

Anything can happen, but I'd be utterly dumbfounded if we dropped into the 9th spot before the end of the season.

The Kings lost 2/3rds of their top line due to injuries from the Olympics in '06 (Demitra and Frolov) which was a big factor for their slide at the end. This year's team is 100% healthy and arguably more talented.

Big difference.

Plus Demitra is a soft ********!

That team also lacked depth and heart. That's something this current squad has a lot more of.
