Tocchet about perhaps being cautious with Stamkos: Obviously, a kid like him, you would never jeopardize his career. If he doesn't play, other guys have to step up. He's a big part of our team, but his career is more important to me than this hockey game, no question.

If Stamkos doesn't play, Tocchet said center Zenon Konopka, who has missed five games with a mild disc herniation, could play. In any case, Tocchet said Konopka is close.

Left wing Ryan Malone (upper body) and defenseman Mattias Ohlund (left ankle) are out.

Colin Campbell has turned the disciplinary police into a total joke. Cooke gets off scott free, and Ovechkin, as much as I hate him, was the only to get suspended on arguably the least questionable of the 3 hits. We need a knowledgeable review board, not one d-bag coming off half-cocked because he doesn't like a player or wants to appease a certain team.

Lombardi is an impending UFA I'd love to see on the Lightning (Michalek too for that matter). Hard worker, fast, wants the responsibility to perform/finish. Versatile enough to play wing or center in any role (PP, PK).
