Why can't we just be eliminated mathematically. I know we aren't gonna make it, the team plays like the know that too, yet that little sliver of hope is always there...

nothing against bochenski, but his name is not a hockey name, more like the people your parents told you to stay away from, like the neighborhood rifraff. nice play though there brandon

How're we lookin' tonight, guys? Just got in and I'm happy to see it's 2-1 considering when I got an update on my phone we were down 2-0.

Gotta get these 2 here since the 'Canes aren't taking care of the B's tonight. Also, Atlanta just took the lead over Buffalo with about 5 to go...so yes, at least 1 point is crucial here. But 2 points would be huge.

WHY CAN'T WE SCORE MORE THAN 1 GOAL!

C'mon boys. There needs to be a sense of urgency here...these 1 or 2 points are huge.

****!

So frustrating. We score 5 goals a game and the goalies stink. Niitty finally gets good again and nobody can score.

It might be over just due to injuries.

Well, I'd say that just about does it for the season. I've been optimistic about our chances until the very end, but making up a 6 point deficit in 13 games? Not gonna happen.

I guess I shouldn't be disappointed considering how far we've come from last season, but a team with this much talent should have no issues getting into the 7th or 8th spot.

well at the start of the season we all knew, that everything must be going our way to reach the play offs.unfortunatly for us, too many guys let us down.tanguay was a bust, smith wasnt playing well, malone only visible the first half of the season, vinny did not score a lot etc.well guess its time for a draft thread.

I want Tanguay gone and I want Smith gone. Sign a real #1 this off-season and start seriously grooming Tokarski to be up here within the next two or three years. Get a real winger for Vinny (I'm all for keeping Purcell around, but we need a bona fide scorer here) and let Ranger walk because he can't be counted on.

And, y'know, I've been staying off the Tocchet hate wagon (and Lawton hate wagon), but Tocchet hasn't proven to be the coach I thought he could be and Lawton overall just sucks. He's made some good moves in his time here, but it's time for a shake-up this off-season. No more excuses.

Also, these "Push for the Playoffs" commercials on SunSports are really starting to piss me off. What playoff push? Why should I get excited about a team that doesn't seem to be excited about potentially making the playoffs? Now I'm one of the people that is going to watch every game regardless, but those commercials sure as hell are misleading.

The only positive is The fridge, Thompson , Parrish and Nitty. Bochenski had missed 3 chances, chewy a net open. We cannot missed that many chance and win. Stamkos played injured and he was a lot slower. When Tocchet and Brian Fu...... Lawton will understand that Vinny will not contribute with AHlers or no-heart NHL( like tanguay). The only good play from Tanguay was the pass to chewy that he missed an open net. Niity, you're our star and you're helping us each night. Our Defence is too slow and they are having many problems: making the first pass, playing zone defence and holding the offensive blue line. Our offense is not like the big teams in the NHL we need a real top 6. Lawton need to find us a 1 or 2 top 6 players, 1 top 4 defence or 2 if Paul ranger don't come back, a real number 1 goalie and some players who give every thing they have each night like thompson, the fridge but with a bit of more skills.

We just got back from the game and I have to admit....usually I get upset when they don't play well, but this game was more comical than anything I've seen in a while. Our whole section was predicting just about everything that was going to happen from the power play to which player that had the puck and how long it was going to be before he had his pocket picked (not very long!)

It's like Bryzgalov knew exactly where everybody was going to be on the power play. We were even calling the passes on the power play and who they were going to. The whole time they were trying to set Stammer up and if that lane wasn't there, Vinny was going to be at the right corner of the net, do a spin around, and try to jam it in. I believe I counted that one 4 times on the spin around - (that's Oates new twist to the PP). It was so so predictable it's like they were using a script. It was that funny.......and sad.
