You can argue it all you want but you'd be wrong. They had the home ice and lost both games at home. Calgary was the better team like Anaheim was, like Detroit was, like Edmonton was, and like Dallas was.

Drew Brees won the superbowl ... I wonder if he's available to quarterback our PP.

That Sharks team simply ran out of gas, Doug Wilson and Ron Wilson said as much after the season. Vinnie, Ricci, Marchment, and Marshall were on their last legs and it showed in that series.

That doesn't excuse them from blowing that opportunity. The Flames were just as gassed. That's just weak.

Said this before but I'll say it again.

I'm all for Nichol coming back next season with the C on his jersey.

Don't forget Heater, he's surprised me how hard he plays and how much he wants to win.

Ouch. Didn't post here until now since when I got home decided to catch up on Tuesday night TV shows.

I hate that I was right, but this was to epic proportions. Seeing your team get routed at home is bad but you can live with it. Seeing your team get routed on the road and have to suffer with idiot Stars fans? Tough to live it down.

Doesn't matter that when the Sharks scored fans said "Score-board" to which I replied "Standings."

And some drunk guy laughed when I walked up the aisle after the game, to which I told him, nicely, "Enjoy the rest of the REGULAR season." I don't think he understood that it was a jab.

Regardless, I know we've seen years past when the Sharks were blazing hot in March and it amounted to nothing. So now the Sharks are in a rut in March and it will mean something later? Sure doesn't feel that way at the moment.

So I only caught the first period of this game when the Sharks trailed 1-0. They looked bloody awful and I suspected it might go downhill. In order to sleep peacefully tonight, I tried to avoid the details, but I read Dan R.'s SJ update on facebook.
UNHOLY HEIFER WTF.

Didn't feel like staying up to watch this game...anyone think that the reason San Jose is struggling is because borderline teams are playing with more fire and with tight checking in order to make the playoffs (just like all teams do in the actual playoffs), and, as usual, the Sharks struggle against that?

If the Sharks can't at least get past the second round, Thornton has to go.

Sharks delay flight to hold practice tommorrow.

Practice? PRACTICE?

Also Clowe gave an excellent interview post game.

And seriously... Calling the 04 loss a choke job to make yourself feel better about the utter fail that is playoff hockey in San Jose is comical. The fact remains: this team cannot elevate it's game when it counts. This core has failed to do so for 5 years. It's time to change it up.

Since the beginning of February, the Sharks have had a disturbing trend of falling behind the opposition. They went 9 straight games giving up the first goal, but recently, it has gotten even more challenging. They have been down 2-0 in five of the last 9 games. Of those, they have been down 3-0 four times, and 4-0 twice. Their record in those games is 0-5-0.
aaah

Thanks. Before the game my wife and I were debating whether to even go to the March 31 game because it may not mean much, but after the game on that miserable drive home we decide that work permitting, we have to go.

This team is so embarrassing to watch right now. They suck major ass in every aspect of the game. They have twelve games to fix this crap. I don't even know if they can fix it.

And Pollak said I think that Thornton and Marleau wasn't there to interview. Just like the playoffs.
Clowe said"We should have three practices tomorrow. Maybe set up a gauntlet out there to get guys to compete.

And about the 2004 team, they didn't choke away anything. I was dissapointed that they lost yes, but they played their hearts out, they played 110 percent every night. Thats what I care about. This Sharks team or the past few years haven't done that at ALL, their compete level is like 50-70 percent every night. It seems like Thornton doesn't give a S***, Marleau is floating around, Heatley seems like he cares a little bit. Our only top player that seems to care is Boyle. IF we lose early in the playoffs, Trade Thornton or maybe package Heatley and Thornton.
