Come home, Happy!

I'll be ecstatic if we can get him back and wave goodbye to Bertuzzi

Actually, I'd rather Hudler in, Williams out.

Agreed. Bert still gives us some size and a threat on another line that isnt the top 2, something we need. Hudler on Hank's with this year would be looking phenominal.

We also will have some solid money coming off the blocks in the next few years so with some solid performances he could cash in big time.

I tell you this, I'd still take Huds over Fil.

54 points in 54 games on this team would be nirvana

Williams is out no matter what. His open spot will be filled by Abdelkader, who is in no matter what. Done and done.

The lynchpin is Bertuzzi's spot. Wings will either replace him or re-sign him. If Hudler comes back, he's the replacement.

These comments have never made sense to me. They are two completely different players who fill two completely different roles. It's not an either/or case. They fill different needs.

I'd take Lilja over Osgood.

Didnt really knew that mattered? For money purposes, I'd take Hudler.

I get the point they play 2 different games ... If I'm going with who Detroit needs more, its Hudler. We got enough defensively responsible players, lack scoring wingers.

Is it too early to dream of:

Franzen - Datsyuk - Holmstrom
Hudler - Zetterberg - Cleary
Tatar - Filppula - Miller
Abdelkader - Helm - Eaves

This would be a really good forward setup. Draper would still be here next season so I can see him playing every 2 games and switching with Abdelkader or Tatar/Mursak/prospect.

If we can get Hudler back I don't think we would really need to go out and get the likes of Frolov, Afinogenov, etc. The question is, how good is Hudler now?

Ideal lineup:

Franzen - Datsyuk - Holmstrom
Hudler - Zetterberg - Cleary
Tatar/Mursak/Ritola/FA signing - Filppula - Miller
Abdelkader/Draper - Helm - Eaves

Lidstrom - Rafalski
Kronwall - Stuart
Lilja - Lebda/Kindl
Ericsson

I'm not too sure about Bertuzzi, I think we could do without him next season. Basically the guys going would be Williams, Bertuzzi, Maltby, May and Meech. Probably resign Lebda or just bring up Kindl and give him a shot. I think Ritola would fit really well with Flip and Miller. I liked what I saw from him and he should definitely be given a shot.

I would love to have Hudler back. He would not score at a point per game pace like he is in the KHL, but he would definitly help our offense!

Plus he's small so whenever we get beat by a physical team we can blame him.

Hahaha made me lol.

Huds and Sammy's ability to gain the zone and possess the puck has been missed.

I would be ecstatic if we can get Hudler back. We sorely miss the little guy's offensive skills.

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom
Franzen-Filppula-Hudler
Eaves-Helm-Cleary
Abdelkader-Draper-Miller

I think Stuart over Osgood would be a better example, then again, I'm pretty sure stuart has saved more goals from in the crease than Osgood this season...

Interview with Jiri re: playing with the Wings next year from Mlive.

March 19, Denkisport.cz (very roughly translated): Question: You still have a contract with Dynamo for next season, but in the summer, you could go back to Detroit. What are the chances of that happening?

Hudler: Five days after the season is over, it's difficult to comment on that. It depends on what changes Dynamo wants to make. I've called Ken Holland a few times, we've talked, but he's not pushing me to do anything. He wondered how I was doing. Their scout in Moscow knew that I managed to get a lot of ice time. We agreed that we'd talk after the season. We'll stay in touch.

Question: So you don't exclude a return to the NHL?

Hudler: I don't exclude anything.

Question: You've also talked with coach Mike Babcock, also in a similar vein?

Hudler: We agreed that Detroit hasn't scored as many goals as they'd like to, and he agreed that he would like to see me back there. To hear this from such a coach is very nice.

Question: And what did you say?

Hudler: I don't know exactly, it was a while ago (smiles). It's essential that I played very well for the team I had a contract with, Dynamo. But I won't deny that I'm happy that Detroit's remembered me. They treat their players in such a way that everyone wants to play for them and it's difficult to leave them.

Question: Will you personally do something to try and opt out of your contract with Dynamo?

Hudler: I never said that I wanted to leave Dynamo. I only said that anything can happen. It will take a few days to clear my head, and then the team will decide what changes to make. I don't have a problem with anyone there.

Question: Do you want to forget about hockey for a while?

Hudler: No, it never occurred to me. I just want to get myself healthy again and prepare for my summertime training. Next season Dynamo will want to beat Spartak.

Question: And you could receive new motivation to impress a new coach?

Hudler: Don't doubt that I want to acquit myself well.

Question: But you don't want to rise above everything, bite the bullet, and play in the World Championships so your fans can see what you bring?

Hudler: If there was a coach that had confidence in me. It's that simple.
