Folks, we are playoff bound!

And nobody noticed it???

Worst case scenario:

Habs lose 2 last games, remain at 87 points.
IF Flyers win both games vs Rangers, they r at 90 points.
Rangers then, if they one one game and lose both vs Flyers, are at 84 points.
If Bruins win their last 3 games, they are at 91 points.
Max Thrashers can get is 85 and their are tie only if bruins lose alls. But again, thrashers are not ahead of Habs

So it mean position 6-7-8-9 , It would be Bruins, Flyers, Habs, Rangers.

That my friends is the worst case scenario. If Flyers lose both game, they remain at 86 points, Rangers move up 88 points, Bruins can win all three at get 91 points so position 6-7-8-9 would be:

Bruins, Rangers, Habs, Flyers.

Both rangers and flyers win one of the duel?

Flyers get 88 points total
Rangers if win other game get 86 points
Bruins if win all get again 91 points,
So habs finish again AHEAD of Rangers with 87 points.

My friend, WE ARE PLAYOFF BOUND!!!!

Yea it would take a catastrophic melt down for us to be out.

In any case, I'm more concerned about positioning.

I absolutely do not want the Devils for obvious reasons. I would rather play the Caps instead.

Bah worst case scenario

Rangers win all last 3, and 2 vs Flyers in overtime and we do not make the playoff.

Thats the only way we will not make the playoff if we cannot get one more point.

Mathematically, chances Habs do not make the playoff is .09%, but it would be much nicer if we could have clinched tonight.

So, is it possible to loose a 7 game series in 3 games or less? If so,
I have every confidence that our Habs can do it!

GO HABS GO!

Well always look at the bright side, even if we somehow completely implode and not make it, we could end up with a top 10 pick which is not bad in this year's draft. Playoffs would be great but top 10 pick wouldn't hurt either.

You missed one scenero.
If the Rangers win both games against the Flyers and one is in OT or shootout and the Habs don't get at least a point against the Leafs we are out.It would give the Rangers 88pts and the Habs and the Flyers tied with 87 pts . First tie breaker is total wins. We have 39 the Flyers 40.It would be terrible to not make the playoffs because we lose the last regular season game to the Leafs.
Thats including the Bruins can scrape up 1 pt in their remaining 3 games.
