When your in a league that 2/3 of the teams make the playoffs and your team hasnt even come close for years. Owners that come and go more than barmaids in Tiger Woods hotel suite, In a town whose average temps are not freezing, has multiple entertainment options and throw on 2 other major professional teams of course they are not going to sell out. (Although it could be argued that hockey is no longer a major sport.) Tampa led the league in attendance for many years before their recent slide.

How bout we start lecturing the people who live here but don't go to games, or go but cheer for the team du jour instead of the Lightning.

I'm not calling anyone here out or questioning how much of a fan they are. Sorry if it came out that way. I know you guys here on hf are very loyal and great fans and do a whole lot more than the average fan of any team. I do believe it's bad though that fans like buffalo make the overall fan base fell this way.

Together we will

-Watch Meszaros have the best seat in the house when other teams score.

-Watch Meszaros have the best seat in the house when an opponent messes with Stamkos.

It takes minimal effort to help Stamkos out in that situation but he couldnt even do that. How he hasn't been a healthy scratch this year I dont know. After all the crap Vinny gets for not caring, there isnt a player who has made less effort on this team than Meszaros.

Thug Steve Downie nets 18th goal of the season. Rest of league wonders why he is still allowed to do such things.

When was the last time Tanguay scored?
Feb 4th vs NYI. His last point was 6 games ago. Pretty worthless.

Not including the fairgrounds years, Tampa's attendance issues have really only become really noticeable during the last couple of years (the OK hockey years). Even the Rays called their season ticket renewals for this year as "really bad" and the Bucs have plenty of seats available and are clamoring for ticket sales which is odd for a football crazed area. People down here are just holding onto their money.....I took a big pay cut just to keep being employed....

Why do I have 4 Lightning jerseys? Games like this make me think a full scale shake-up is coming at the end of this season. I don't understand how I keep rooting for this bleeping team.

Glad I had something to go to tonight and got to miss the game. Nice "effort" with a chance to get back in the playoff race.

Vanek returns the favor, one meaningless goal for another. Oh, and Parrish was actually pissed that we got scored on- maybe this trend will catch on?

Foster with his second assist of the night......oh those don't count.

Only trot him out for minimal ice time and PP.

Hopefully playing Stamkos doesn't hurt him long term. I want him to do another training off-season chez Gary. Won't help him if he aggravates injuries. Not like there's much more to play for this season. Such a ****ing embarassment this team. It's a joke. Other teams play us and laugh, cause they know it's easy. Can't wait to hear the "we're doing it to ourselves, we need a run, we got guys here who don't wanna play, etc." Just shut the **** up already.

Did any of u guys notice when Peckham talked about the ice microphones and the crude language that was goin on. He was like hopefully none of this language offended anyone. Anyone know what he was exactly talking about?

Well, I'd like to keep my tickets but without changes there's gonna be a big toss up between next years' tickets and redoing the bathroom (which is still in shambles from last years start of renovating.....) My wife is not so much a diehard hockey fan......

I hate when the hockey season is over, but seeing the team play this bad suck even more.

At least Downie and Vinny scored.

Nah man, it's good. Sorry I got so irate. It's irritating is all. When you go to all the games and have to defend your team, the fan base, the city and everything else while at the same time watching the team stink it up on the ice, it gets old.

Back to the game. It's one thing to get beat because you get out talented. Buffalo should have won this game regardless, but there isn't any excuse not to lay it all out there. It didn't seem like the team started off that badly, but they quit for a long time after those first two Buffalo goals and you can't make that up against Miller very often. And that crap against Stamkos. Not going to blame the other team, it happens. But how many times have Marty and Stamkos been messed with this year that nobody responded. How many times did Smitty get run in his own damn crease with nobody there to stick up for him. Really hard to look at this team and believe that Rick Tocchet is the head coach, no grit to them at all.

As far as Sabre fans, when you have a 30 yr old lady taunting a 10 yr old kid on the escalator because your team won & his didn't... thats pretty pathetic. True story when I went on the 24th.

If I get another 10 gamer I'll make sure I don't get a Sabre game. Nothing but *******s.
