Esche is OK

I don't have a link but my co-worker is the son of Tim Pinacio (SP?) According to his father, Esche has Flu like symptoms and will likely start game 6

Malakhov on the other hand will probably miss game 6.

Update just got put on the Flyers site about it.

I'm just relieved Esche is alright.

Flu like symptoms? Wow..that was the last thing I expected. What's all the talk about the neurologist?

Not to mention upper-body injuries.

I guess the stomach is technically in the upper half of the body, though.

He was probably feeling dizzy or lightheaded, so they wanted to check for concussions. That's probably why the neurologist was called.

I would feel really weird about Burke having to play tommorrow though, if he does.
He looked really shaky yesterday for some reason.

Sweet news on Esche.

Hey, I know it is easy to chide Burke but maybe his strong friendship with Esche has been a plus in these playoffs. Meaning, no controversies.

"Flu-like symptoms" is what Scott Stevens was cited as having in January of this year. It is also what put Oleg Tverdosky on I.R. for about six weeks during the 2002-03 season. Both those men had post concussion syndrome.

But the fact that he is categorized as "hopeful for Game 6" seems a good sign and an indication that it is not too serious.

that and the fact that the Flyers don't feel the need to mislead the public or put ******** labels like the leafs and devils have done and continue to do...he had/had the flu...don't read too much into it...now if Pat Quinn were making the statement, then we could all speculate ad nauseum...

You think Bobby Clarke has never lied to the fan base?

did I say that Bobby never lies????
What I said was the Flyers give out accurate injury info or at least as accurate as possible. Not like the other two organizations...

do not put words in my mouth...

The difference is 2 or 3 other players have had the same symptoms so it does seem like the proper diagnoses rather than made up.

The Malakhov issue is getting ignored here and I think it is absolutely pathetic that Darcy Tucker is allowed to skate all the way down the rink, leave his feet, injure our 2nd best d-man in the lineup, and get 2 minutes for "boarding." Malakhov was playing 29 mins a game when Johnsson was out and he was doing good too. I am not sure how far I am allowed to go, but Darcy Tucker can be a piece of filth sometimes. At least Klee is also out.

Great news for Esche, but I'll start cheering when I see him on the ice.

Nice to hear Eschey could be ok for Game 6, bad about Malakov though. We need them both to be fully fit and firing to do well in Toronto.

They gave out accurate info this season. In years past, they were the worst at giving out correct/legit injury reports.
