I voted yes because i want to see him play in the bigs for at lest a few games, however I'm fine with him staying down in Springfield until TC next year.

IMO Eberle has nothing really to prove outside the NHL.

Dominate the CHL = Check
Already PPG player in AHL = Check
Best World Junior Player = Check
Best player in 3/4's of training camp games = Check

IMO that just shows me hes ready to step into the NHL. I loves Barnes article and thats the way management should be viewing his development also.

All you have to do is look at Margaret Wente's droopy eyes to see she's a ****ing pinhead.

I would prefer a fresh start next year. I would also like them to publicly state they don't want him anywhere near the dressing room and its unacceptable attitude and cancerous aroma!

Considering that isn't going to happen I'll be happy with a strong few games in the AHL.

One of the stupidest things I ever read. Almost sad that he brought it to our attention.

Having the snow covered sleds from the avalanche as the header pic was in such poor taste it boggles my mind.

I love how Wente is trying to justify her column in a live chat right now. I also love how she's censoring half of the comments made towards her ignorant ass.

But development has to be the only priority.
I agree with this, i don't get the "Owe it to Fans" stuff..... The only thing that management owes to fans is making the right decisions for a change, if it's the right decision for Eberle to play some games with the Oilers this year then so be it but do it because he earned the right to play with the big club, not because it'll make fans happy.

“Do you think men are more opinionated than women are?” I asked my friend Sarah the other day. “No,” she said. “They just don't feel the need to think before they open their mouths.”

I call BS here - she just ripped this from TV. I heard this once in a Sex and the City episode. It was that one where Samantha got with a younger guy, Charlotte had a crisis, Miranda moped about not getting laid and Carrie voice over narrated about it.

its true, its true.. culture of ignorance... etc etc.. i won't even get into it. they can quote sex and the city like clockwork but know nothing of goethe or proust.... but seriously imo sex and the city changed things, look at the young women today... then again i've spent the year in the maritimes so maybe i'm just suffering from culture shock. it ain't pretty.... one day i'll write a paper on it. not today, not here.. not on hf boards

I think he should get a few games. It will give him a better idea of what to expect and what to work on for next season.

I say Jordan should be allotted 5 games in the NHL. I feel its the perfect opportunity to test the water and get a better idea of what he needs to do in the off-season. Either way, Jordon will be playing for the worst team in the league with players that have a 'loser' attitude whether or not its in the AHL or the NHL.

I'd rather they not burn up the 9 games when next fall is a better time to see whether he should stay up or not. I think we could play him in 1 or 2 games this season so he has an idea of what it'll take, but not more than that.

In 9 games, I doubt he could have kept up that pace for a full season. It might be a different story now though, but he needs to prove to be a consistent contributer at both ends of the ice against top AHL opponents before he should set foot in Edmonton.

Don't ask me why, but I laughed at O'sullivan's comment concerning losing his fingernail. I have a sick sense of humor so thats what I blame it on.

Quote:
“He slashed me and caught me right at the end of the finger and my nail just exploded,” O’Sullivan said.

“I could feel it in my glove and then when I came to the bench, I took my glove off and the nail had come off and it was about (four centimetres) long.

That’s how far it extends into the finger. It’s amazing.”
I wonder if the end of his finger turned green in time for St. Patty's Day.

I hope he heals up good though. Despite being the worst +/- in the league he's at least a try hard.

Excellent article by Barnes. Maybe having a guy that really wants to play, and loves the game like Eberle does would be an eye opener for some of the Oilers players; even if our season is in the crapper.

Thanks BB.

These 9 games aren't like Roll Over Minutes from Bell©. If you don't use them this year they disappear. And he doesn't get another 9 games next season.

Why not give him 5 or 6 games for him to get a bearing on what he needs to prepare for. It will give him some direction, focus, and motivation for his off season training. Give him a taste of what he has been waiting for his whole life.
